When you switch to a more discreet stim and someone still tells you to "stop fidgeting", and your whole being just "!!!!!!!!!!!!"

As somebody that leans more to the hyposensitive end of the spectrum, stimming is kind of a constant for me. It fills the holes in my consciousness.

I really cannot just stop. Believe me. I'm not just saying that to be facetious or exaggerative or obnoxious in any way. It is physically uncomfortable for me to stop.

Halfthe time, I don't even notice I'm doing it. So when you bring it to my attention and then tell me to stop, it's having me zero in on the comfort it brings me and then forcing me to stop.

adrianewright: oh that too. Also, my volume perception/intonation is an issue. People always tell me to speak up and speak slower when I think I sound just fine.
