I agree with Sue's comments. That must have been a slimy, salty mess. I'd have whizzed it in a processor and tried to balance the seasoning and texture by turning it into a smoothie.
good for you for following the recipe. I wouldn't have, but I would have wanted more spinach per person. 35 minutes? For spinach? I'd have been so tempted to change it up - cook less, add a smidge of nutmeg
