spartabitch ,
bookwormfaith ,
ashfae would one of your characters contact anyone outside of their group regarding that they're on their way to meet the Annuminas group/on the way to their new destination?
Also Tea, I have Elladan
listed as being with the Annuminas group, not with the Minas Tirith group, is that incorrect information of does he need to be picked up or?
Elladan has been in Lothlorien with Amroth, and he's been in contact with Aaron via marble, so he'll be going with him. Mags would be in touch with Riley and probably Curufin back in Deepwood regularly so yes
WHO OF YOU IS GOING TO TOL SIRION FINAL CALL
...okay I think this should be it, so from here on this will be talking to people
Mags will go if the others go
I'm sorry, I fear there's been misunderstandings and I can't read frick /rubs head SORRY LOTHLORIEN GROUP I THOUGHT YOU WERE HEADED TO ANNUMINAS
and piggybacking on that misunderstanding
spartabitch is Aaron simply trying to get to Lothlorien here? Because then he would absolutely not see the flashes, he'd have to fly over them to see them.
So our plan wouldn't work.
That doesn't break the plot and there will still be plenty f interesting things, just the journey won't work
Tilion would still drop Aaron and whomever he wants to take along off in Lothlorien.
bookwormfaith: Maglor aren't you happy that Curufin is for some reason being less of a problem brother than Celegorm was in Each
narwa: He's just a nicer guy, that's all. XD
Speaking of plotty things, I'm launching him off towards Himring in another day or two. Don't know yet if anybody's going with him, but HE'S GOING.
I'm looking toward coming off hiatus, and Aes is still awake. She's been ghostified by her encounter with the Palantir, though.
(I'm still trying to figure out how far to backdate the marble post I need to make about that, by the way)
tangyminx: I'm curious to see if he'll manage to build a boat or raft |D
x m_logan_2k2: (Can I help you with that figuring out?) Also do you know how close she is to dying/if she's died already?
She was jumped to the two-week mark when she picked the Palantir up, so...
Depending on the date, she maaaay be close to death?
(I suck with IC dates. ;_; )
ardamods: nah aaron is only turning to pick up Elladan not actually going to lothlorien
narwa: Curufin can build ANYTHING. XD
bookwormfaith: Okay sorry I'm so confused right now I think I need this in iddly bits. Where is Elladan at the moment that Aaron will want to pick him up?
m_logan_2k2: She touched the palantir on the first of may, or shortly after. Since she was jumped to the two-week-mark, she should die sometime during the third week of june.
Depending on how this plotting turns out, she might be able to get cured just before she dies, so hold your horses for a bt longer with plotting out her death though.
narwa: Elladan is in Lothlorien, he asked Aaron to swing by and pick him up
As in, to Minas Tirith? Or somewhere else?
to wherever Aaron is going Elladan doesn't mind so long as he goes with
i believe the plan was to head to investigate thr lights with a mention of gundabad
yo will hit this soon as I am actually awake
o7 my main concern is that with what Tea said, it sounds like Aaron has no actual reason to go anywhere at all with the boat, and with the information that Amroth's group is in Lothlorien, that there is no
way he would see the lights
What is going on, I'm so confused.
From you, I just want to know if Galadriel is going to Tol Siron or not.
iirc that's your only character?
yeah, she's my only character. And she's hanging back with her kiddo, if
lenneths_wings approves of this plan
Where will they be staying?
Oh, I don't know, I was just going to say that they separated from the group a little before
/nodnod that works. I was just curious where they'd be.
/nod
a cure actually been found yet, or...?
Alright. XD I was just curious, since I've seen it being thrown around a bit.
but depending on how this plottly plotling turns out, it might be found just in time for her (and tbh it would be great if someone is conveniently around to figure it out |D )
Hey, if you need someone to advance plot, and nobody else is exactly leaping at the opportunity... 8D
if someone else has already volunteered on the other hand I am perfectly fine with being completely peripheral.
I think Aes should not be the only one still alive at that point, because Dorian figured out a way to slow it down? Maybe?
MammaFerus did Dorian help anyone to slow their illness down, and if so, whom?
hokay! so, the information Aaron received from Julien is that people were heading west.
here
that is the information he is acting on
"people are going west to find the source of the lights"
Tazendra probably isn't going to be doing anything plot relevent
"I remember the direction the lights were coming from when they cut through Deepwood"
Zelgadis would probably go off on his own to start tracking the lights, since no one else has found anything.
Unless someone else from the Lothlorian party is going
he wouldn't be going to lothlorien, he heard that people were going from lothlorien to try to find the light source.
And what direction would Zelgadis have headed into?
From what I gather, they'll probably skip Tol Sirion at this point?
(If someone disagrees, speak up!)
But the prevailing thought seems to be, no one has IC reasons to go to a place they know might have some really dangerous stuff just for funsies
spartabitch: So he would want to head towards Deepwood?
But I do have a QUESTION on related to that point... Didn't you say there were flashy light things coming from there?
rhapsodyrumor Yes! They are, and they should have noticed that while trekking west.
they pass fairly close by menegroth, too
If Aaron does tell Hawke "Yo, interesting stuff over here, I'm gonna investigate", Hawke will probably say "Wait up 'til I get there with my posse." For any given definition of 'there'.
She wouldn't tell anyone outside of the big group she's with, though, because nearly everyone she knows is conveniently in that big group.
So, Hawke will either keep merrily following Finrod, or break off to join Aaron.
so the group that we were talking about for the northern end of the north-southern flashes is split up all over Middle-earth right now and none of them know about the north-southern flashes?
he would go to Deepwood and continue northwest wanting Tilion to get him as close to the source of the lights as he can get
Okay so then, FINROD GROUP, I shall leave it up to group majority whether "hey should we go investigate these lights that are screwing with people?" is enough reason to detour to Tol Sirion
Anyone passing through Deepwood is welcome to grab Cullen and try to make him useful.
he's like "they left already, they have a head start, keep going, no time to try to catch up with them on the ground"
spartabitch: okay then we were talking about completely different things. I would prefer if Aaron could stay with Aes and whoever else is in Minas Tirith atm then, because there will be a plot point there, but
If Aaron is coming NW by moon boat, he's welcome to run into the other group.
if you want Tilion to ferry Aaron a bit he could drop him off in Isengard or in Bree.
well, getting him to stay in minas tirith is easy enough
all you have to do is say Tilion doesn't go there
without the moon boat, he wouldn't strike out on his own
and as long as something is going to happen there, I am down with him staying
hey aes. Aaron is using the elf ring to rebuild part of the city.
okay, then Tilion won't show up in Minas Tirith, nor will his boat. Sorry about the confusion!
narwa: She's heading into the mountains around the Mordor border to look for trouble.
narwa: Based on the map? Probably southwest unless someone has a better idea. Then try to follow the path of the flashes
how does Zelgadis know that there is a reason to head southwest?
//slowly clawing back into game things, peeks into plotting plurk//
As soon as this has come to a head, there will be plot for everyone no matter where they are >D
Pip's goign where everyone else is going...idk where that is tbh
spartabitch: okay, so we wipe that whole convo, yes? since
narwa: tillion isn't going to be coming, and aaron isn't going to be going?
it's a shame, it would have been rad, but I think this is a better idea
and now we all know that Aaron would steal the moon if he could
narwa: ... Damn, I forgot that there wasn't much access to maps
I was thinking if they knew what direction the flashes went from Deepwood, and where Zel is now, that would suggest he should head southwest from Lothlorien.
BeccaStareyes: Well, the people that he's with know enough that they could send him to Minas Tirith, where they know by now the flashes that go through Deepwood are ending in the east.
To my knowledge, nobody has noticed the north-south flashes yet
(don't worry, they soon will harrharr)
narwa: is it ok if you/me/someone makes a specific post for Finrod and Co. Re: Tol Sirion flashes so it's easier to find?
See, I was thinking if he knew Deepwood and Minas Tirith, he could draw a line between them, and make for the nearest point on the line, then follow that to see if there's anything interesting.
narwa:
spartabitch: alas, well that leaves elladan in lothlorien then since he's kinda moping, I think
so this is really confusing to me...can we put out a summary of what's agreed here once it's figured out?
BeccaStareyes: probably gonna drop him soon tbh he's... not doing well without his family, and he's not got much to do
Hawke will Very Strongly vote for investigating the lights, especially after Julien's death, which she's not gonna be happy about.
...unfortunately my sense of direction is rotten and I have no idea where anything is, so someone better tell me where to make her go
/pokes head back in Info?
Finrod would be liable to investigate as well, just not alone.
(Pardon my random timing, trying to juggle a few different things at once and not doing so well with any of 'em.)
(Not to mention Beleth and Mahanon. Pretty much he is not down with these light killings.)
When Hawke finds out Mahanon is dead too she'll be even more pissed, yes
/handwaving marble comm with Amroth y/n?
So they will follow the lights after all?
Y-yes? I don't want to speak definitively since there are still a couple people in the group who haven't spoken either way
Mags will go with group consensus
My understanding is Galadriel and Bri = no, Finrod yes if he has companions, Maglor yes if most people are, Hawke yes if/when she finds out about Julien/Mahanon?
So...a lot of ifs, I know that's not the most helpful for the minute
(My suggestion is that they go to Menegroth first and then Tol Sirion, so those that want to skip Tol Sirion don't have to try to regroup for Dragon! TM )
Sweden will tag along, but for obvious reasons his player would keep in the background. Iiiiii would assume that Sweden and Finland are an item so what Fin does is important too
yeah, defs menegroth first
Maybe Tol Sirion needs its own plotting post?
Unless the other discussions here are closed. Just so it's easy for players to find the relevant discussions?
Dec is with Aaeren and idk where that is 100%
FaeRose: if you two are interested in having them in Tol Sirion when this chapter of the plot ends and be involved there, you should talk to Lel about them having headed west with Conan or otherwise hanging
out with him I would be amused if Aaeren pulls a Gimli-on-ring on the palantir ok
does anyone need a big red half-orc or more likely, a mage-fighting specialist fighter/tactician for plot reasons? :x
Deepwood, currently, he's mostly been keeping an eye on Nerdy while on sort of silent running
then you'll get opportunities to get him into things once the end of the month rolls around and this specific plot point has happened, but not before, I fear
I will try to keep the engine warm for that
late, but the Doctor rarely sleeps, so if you need someone in that group to be up to see a thing, he could definitely be awake!
Oh she's gonna pull a gimli. And they headed north through the grey havens, down the river there, and will be heading nw soon. I don't have my paper right now for calculations
draconic: /shuffles you over to the tol sirion plot post
Should be home in another 40 minutes or so for plotting
Okay, I'm home! who wants to join Team Conan?
as far as I know theres going to be a log going up this weekend that will be IC dated to the end of the month. Conan will have a moment of inspiration (as he does) and head off to fix the palantir
(is anyone else as amused as I am that its the brat who doesn't believe in magic whos doing this?)
fiery_chicken and
FaeRose should be team conan if they want to get to tol sirion in time, I think :|9 assuming that he's still with them
(also how high are the chances that kid won't let him live that down)
Kid doesn't get a vote. he died becuse he got hit by a flash of light
and left Conan to keep his girlfriend from panicking
look, Conan has seen a lot of ways for people to die. this is the only time hes seen someone killed by light
Said girlfriend appreciates it even if she has no use what was going on
narwa: Iiiii might be completely blind, but I'm not seeing the post in question?
Watch out, Conan, because she's determined adn she's not going to stop for a kid. she'll shove you out of the way
ahaha, just let him reverse the palantir first
he will kick a soccerball at her if he thinks she'll do something stupid
or hit her with a sedative dart
she can try and smash it after hes rebooted it
It kliled her brother she can't wait that long
.....yup, how do you feel about him putting her to sleep if she tries to jump in first?
I knwo 100% that she's not going to be able to even touch the palantir...
this is why Holmes was right about staying away from all those distracting emotions
I'd love for her to be able to try, but at the saem time, a madwoman coming at him/the thing he's working on with an axe would be something he would react defensively to
ahahaha, yeah, he would react to that
With adrenaline that high though I'm not sure it would work immediately. Then again, no tolerance so she could drop like a rock.
we can see how the thread goes then
Basically: I would love for her to not have to get sedated....but she's very likely to have to get sedated. Or die.
(better sedated than dead)
I think if she charged at him, the two options he would go for would be the sedative darts, or kicking a soccer ball at her
....which might be more painful, considering how hard he kicks those things
She wouldn't charge him per se, but the palantir, and she would yell at him to get out of her damn way
I'm all for sedative/soccer ball though.
Ahahaha, his reaction to that will be interesting (although possibly on the lines of why is everyone around me so stupid)
ardamods I'll be honest with you, I have no idea where the group, or my character, are supposed to be. There was some question of moon boats and confusion... I have no idea how that resolved.
Sorrel is probably still in arda somewhere, but aside from that everything is confusing to me, and I don't know how to solve that.
I don't even know what a moon boat is. I'm not well-read enough about tolkien, I am a failure.
draconic: sorry I confused myself again, there are so many people involved I sometimes mess up who's where
It's not actually relevant to the doctor ajsdfads
please disregard what I said
Micabean: There will be a way to reset at least the geographical confusion at the end of the month
Regarding the boat - essentially,
NPC 1 and 4 both have a flyingboat...ish thing to get around, so we've been talking about Tilion's boat as the moon boat
Well, so long as Sorrel and his Halla are both ok, I suppose I can wait that long to figure out what the heckie deckie is happen
>.> they might not have exclusive sky rights for too terribly much longer, if Aes can figure out a way to make an airship work.
unless random dragon decides it looks like a chewtoy
what does it taste like though. is it like catnip. dragonnip. would we get drunk dragons
Well, let me put it like this
there is a reason why the moon isn't in the air at night, and why there are sometimes half moons where a part of it is black - if you get too close to the sun, you'll pull an icarus, kinda. The sun is very hot.
but as long as she stays away from the sun, she should be good to travel around in an airship!
Just talk to Mark about speed and stuff
She has nooo intention of doing the Icarus thing. XD
The main concern from an IC standpoint is gonna be fuel, really
I mean, I could cheese and say 'Magic. :|
but where's the fun in that?
I assume that she'll model it after airships in canon? Are those fuelled in a specific way?
the ones in XIV use either Ceruleum fuel (which is... not gonna be doable in Arda so need an alternate) or corrupted crystals, depending on size. Corrupted crystals tend to be the smaller ones.
...smaller ships, that is.
The PC gets one, called a mana cutter, that is single-seat.
If push comes to shove she can collab with, say, the Doctor to come up with something that'd work.
that sounds like a good plan
/nod that was the original plan, so. XD
In the end it'll prolly be a propelled gas bag type.
unless someone introduces her to the concept of aerodynamics and ballistic flight
Airships don't tend to travel too much faster than a flying mount, really. It's mostly that they can carry more.
(they also tend to be lightly armed and armored, so. dragons can definitely nom them.)
Anyway, if she builds it, talk to mark about speed. It's just a staple of game organisation for flying stuff
yay a zeppelin plz call it Hindenburg I mean
please look forward to her sister ship, 'Wyrmfood'
And the third in the series, Serpantsupper?
(the fourth will be a superdreadnought named 'Vengeance'.)
