(Making you a tutorial for posting logs to the comm)
I will talk about special formatting stuff later, but right now getting a feel for how this all works comes best from doing. And looking back through other people's logs sometimes to see how tings are done
Okay I will start going through the comm. I've noticed that everyone has a like a voice mail message on their journal. Is that so everyone can leave each other ic messages?
Oh I just saw the message about the tutorial. Thank you so much!
Yes, that voice mail is usually REALLY helpful for characters to contact you.
I still have a second post I'm working on for you, and if you have other questions in the future just ask and I'll try to help
Sorry it's taking so long. Right clicking is pretty hard with this mouse.
Completely understandable. My laptop's mouse pad is temperamental and only works some of the time.
Also, when I'm writing in under the cut for the log. Should I describe him for each of the locations. I've given him three locations to be at during the day cause that sounded best.
Okay, in that situation don't worry about describing the character's appearance unless you REALLY want to. But you should describe a bit of what he's doing or planning at each location.
Typically we will break those up by, under the cut, saying [Morning] and describing that and doing the same for other things, or [Location] and describing.
People will typically respond with a subject line that tells you which they're using as their entrance point. It's a really good idea to offer that range of things for an initial introduction of a character
Because then you can meet characters on their own comfortable terms and give them better chances to meet you rather than going REALLY far out of their character's normal interactions.
Some people are drawn to different locations more. For instance, if Wyoming EVER gets lost and awkward at the grocery store, that's a VERY clear lure for Delta to swoop in and rescue.
Parks (skateparks) tend to draw Theta out. Weapons stores will get more mercenary interaction.
So consider what is reasonable for your character and could be diverse enough for other people to meet you, either on the street or in buildings.
OH, warning. Theta tends to run people over with skateboards when he first meets them. Sorry ahead of time. I blame
HayleyCreagine for making him so cute!
Okay so I was thinking gun shop, bar, and then park as my locations.
Those are a good range of selections. There are two established bars right now. There is Eagle and Asp, which is red and blue team themed. This is frequented by a lot of the FH mercs so it's great
to draw out his teammates, Omega, some of the other characters.
The other bar is Purgatory and it's more commonly used by the Control Mercenaries.
The gun shop is also good for mercs, though the bar adds Alpha and other adults.
The park is just fair game for ANYONE really, so that's a great selection to start out with ^-^
Perfect
And if you EVER need any help, just message me here, private or open. You can tag people you're friends with on plurk by using the @ followed by either their nickname (mine at this moment being Delta Lives)
or their actual name (mine being Churbooseanon.
When you put in an @ it will start to offer autocompletes just like on tumblr.
Oh perfect. Thank you again for everything.
Gladly. Consider me community outreach Mod.
The little sticker that people use for the merc here on plurk how do I get it?
Also, will it be really weird if I went through the taken characters list and tried to friend everyones plurk?
When you hover over that sticker a little plus sign will show up. Just click that.
I do it whenever someone signs up.
Now a warning, people can change their plurk nicknames at any time. Typically if they do they'll make a plurk that tells you what their nickname was before.
To add it you click the smilie, and then the red box will take you to your custom emoticons
If you click the gear after the + button but before you click add, you can give it a custom name that you can type in.
I use [ merc] without the space.
That way I can always put it in quickly
I don't think they have enough karma to get emotes yet
Perfect thank you. Does typing out the name work for bringing it up or is it just for reference
You also have to fill out 80% of your profile for emotes to work
btw I was wondering what your pronouns are and what you'd like to be called for short
Those are good questions.
She/Her and Kendra, if thats too long though Wy will be fine lol
Welcome to the gang! And I take full responsibility for Theta's skateboard mishaps .^.
