I thought of how best to describe it and I realized it's like, he expected the audience to fill in the blanks on their own while he rushed ahead with the grand scheme of plot he wanted

yet his rewriting of characters differently from how they were established before also meant it's hardly easy to fill in those blanks

It is tough to go through backstories of 9 characters in 24 episodes esp if you just have 12 to start wiht

season 2 is good for that imo. s1 just managed to finish introducing everyone but all the details couldn't possibly fit
