i have too many of these symptoms
i would talk with a doctor first. i mean, i'm not against trying to figure out something, but yeah. i actually had a friend who had adhd. m-my god that was... my god.
I have had it since I was 4 years old. It's really not a fun or easy thing to live with, and for me, personally, it's not something that could ever be grown out of either.
Yes, I need to talk to a doctor. I'm confused that none over the years ever mentioned it at all, but apparently they don't like to diagnose girls with it??
also it only affects a few things in my life so I might not have even given them enough info
mental health in this country is kind of sad, really. and misdiagnosing is so common, too.
i've just had so much trouble my whole life keeping jobs because i can't concentrate on them and I thought I was just a lazy piece of shit
and i'm scared of losing my current job now becauseo f it
mm, i think if you do have it, you'll know what to do to help take better control of it.
I'm a girl, but I would agree with at least seeing a doctor. That definitely sounds like an issue a doctor should know about, because there are several kinds of things it could be.
But agreeing with the above comment. Then you'd totally know how to help yourself in those situations, daily or whenever, because of the help.
yeah...i t can't hurt to ask and if i do have it then i can get some help
I am a girl diagnosed with ADHD and i am in no position to confirm it for you but it is def worth looking into
and if i don't well... i don't know. its something else I guess
the mediction helped a LOT though i am also looking into calling up a therapist to manage the rest of my symptoms
Yes, but if you don't have it, that's not a bad thing. Because youll already be with a doctor and they'll be right there, side-by-side with you still working on what it is all the way around. It means you'll
already have a doctor on your side who will keep working on it and looking into it.
possibly... I mean, I've had this problem with work all my life and none of my docs have really been able to help with it.
they've helped with everything else though, the meds i'm on like....saved my life
I will totally high-five you on that, as I'm in the same boat for other comorbid ailments I have that aren't the ADHD. But totally still here, and in a better version of my life/head, because of the meds.
I lot of kids get misdiagnosed yeah...mostly because the teachers INSIST that the kids must have it if they're a little rowdy
and also a chick diagnoed with it
might be why nobody wanted to suggest it, because they might get accused of over diagnosing it?
In more recent decades it did get over diagnosed and now it seems like a crap shoot almost, whether people pay too much attention or not enough
I was diagnosed in '82, put on Cylert, and taken off it in six years later. I haven't been medicated since.
Sometimes it's frustrating and I think about being medicated again.
But honestly, I've developed so many ways to compensate for it in little ways, I actually feel like a stronger person for having dealt with it on my own.
Different people struggle with it in different ways though.
I agree that it's worth knowing, hearing a doctors word, so you feel more informed on your choices.
I'd like to try meds if I do have it. I'm so tired of having so much trouble with work
what the meds did for me was clear out the background noise
I... need to somehow make concentrating on work not feel like excruciating bordedom so bad i will ltierally do anything to not have to look at it
As far as not being diagnosed sooner...I'm 41 years old and only RECENTLY diagnosed with sleep apnea even though I've complained of severe exhaustion since my teens. Also wasn't diagnosed with Fibromyalgia
Syndrome till I was intro'd to the concept by a fellow sufferer and went into my doc saying "I think I /might/ have this, can we look into it?"
Sometimes you just have to be your own fucking advocate bc American medicine is SHIT.
Fibro (which I have too AHAHA...) JUST got officially recognized too
Well, for as much as a diag of FS is something to celebrate. But the validation is something you don't forget.
Worth checking into - good luck, lemme know if you wanna talk about it <3
oh I meant there's officially a code in the big book for coding...which now means insurance and stuff cannot legally dismiss it as 'not real'
I've been diagnosed for a few years.
True...though first you have to find a doctor willing to both make that diagnosis AND follow up with helping you learn to deal, or get handicap help, or...whatever.
