Can't you just open the folder with the thing that pops up when you plug a phone in?

do you have the latest version of itunes?

when you plug the phone in, does the phone ask to trust the computer?

just go to "computer" and see what's connected

If you're running Windows 8, you may need to open the photo gallery program

if you're on windows 7 and the autoplay dialogue doesn't show up and your phone doesn't ask to trust the computer, you should be able to open start > computer and right-click the iphone there

if that doesn't work, make sure the phone shows up in iTunes. If it doesn't show up there, try another lightning cable
