First off - 14 hr drive from St. to international falls, MN. Even broken up into segments of 4 hours, TOO MUCH DRIVING. I already posted my other photos but I feel I must share this as well:

ANYWAY, arrived safe, although in rain, andwent up the lake the next day with no problems.
Where, of course, it was beautiful.

I went swimming and kayaking, which were great because the water was surprisingly temperate for July.
Sadly didn't do much hiking because of dear lord were the deer flies bad.

Deer flies incidentally, are medium-ish flies that have evolved the behavior of ANNOYING THEIR TARGETS into submission. They will buzz circles around your head pretty much endlessly until you try to ignore them

at which point they will land and bite you. Trying to go into the deeper woods this year would get you 3-4 pretty much instantly so... no. I stuck to the water.

I did venture into the wilds for blueberries. mmm, wild blueberries.
I also fished up a bunch, including crayfish

Also, walleye <3

So yeah, we ate well.
But yes, had a great, relaxing time. Even if I did sunburn my head (which is peeling now, eww)

Oh yes, also - the teeensiest froog.

so after all of that, it was just another incredibly horrible drive back!
