okay both Oslo and Helsinki have reasonable hostels still available although Helsinki's is better but I'd have to clear out by the weekend

I have to fly for either so which do I want to go to more?

Oh cool there used to be a helicopter transport service between Helsinki and Tallinn. That's a new way to get around for me

Although considering it's closed you can probably guess why it's uncommon

It was literally a matter of "okay this hostel is rated at 77%, this hostel is rated at 75%. I will go to Helsinki!"

I also kind of wanted to go to Helsinki more because of the issues currently going on in Russia

Did I mention that I saw a staged Russian demonstration in Bulgaria?

I would not want to be a neighboring country to Russia at the moment

Also! I went to a fabulous sff bookstore today. I was so sad I couldn't buy everything

I love ebooks, but there's nothing like physically browsing books to give me an idea of what to get

(so yes I have a list now. Although I think I forgot the name of the urban fantasy one I wanted to look up)

Also there's apparently a new Bahzell and it makes me SO GRUMPY

I loved that series when it was an hero and his snarky best friend wandering around having adventures, but Weber keeps making it political and Bahzell/L-whatsername weirded me out

She is way too young for him and it's so clearly a setup for Bahzell and her to have a kid who has hradani stamina and human magic to kick ass and there's nothing more offputting than being able to see the

author setting up the next generation in a get together

(and I ship Bahzell/Brandark. No one is surprised.)

And the whole thing about a heartsick Marine ending up in Bahzellverse was just weird

Okay I am now looking up the War God series online and there is no new Bahzell book showing on here

But the summary didn't match any of the books I remembered
