i work at wh smiths now, which for anyone who doesn't know is a chain of bookstores that also sell newspapers, magazines, lottery stuff and stationery

today a couple came in and started telling me how beautiful i look when i'm working

not in a skeevy way, like they genuinely were so pleased with my beauty

i was so confused because it was both of them and i had never seen them before ever???

also the guy told me, seeming genuinely concerned, that i should stop wearing my uniform t-shirt because it advertises contactless payment and that means the words 'touch and pay' are displayed

proudly across my chest

i never thought of that before......
