I know, find it weird when it doesn't get such attention when other countries legalise same sex marriage? Say Ireland?

cuz ireland is people vote in favour for it. US is legalised by the Supreme Court. it's something like 'justice prevailed' haha

But other countries have done it before them what makes them so special? Think Spain New Zealand

because US has many states and in some states, the highest court ruled than gay marriage is illegal. the supreme court ruling are binding, overruling those lower courts that ruled it was illegal

technically, the supreme court ruling means that the US officially is a country that legalises gay marriage, as opposed to the previous one where only certain states legalised it and some states barred it

I know but it just that U.S. is getting more publicity I think
