I mean, of course it isn't truly random.

But when they say it isn't random, they're saying the shuffler is bad... that it's somehow giving particularly swingy hands rather than ones close to being truly random based on their seed.

Simulating a deck of cards isn't a hard exercise for a computer, especially since it's been done by a ton of people already.

It would be way more work to make an unfair shuffler than a random one.

At least, in any manner that wasn't eventually apparent.

And then I think of this.

I get bad hands in online card games for YGO and Hearthstone too

an online shuffler is always going to be more fair than manual shuffling

but human brains are bad at probability
