I went to sleep at 10:30am this morning and woke up at 11:30, screaming out loud and sitting up

my mother ran into the room terrified something had happened

I had no idea what happened, a nightmare or a hallucination, but I'm pretty sure I hit a C-sharp with my scream

it's kind of fascinating that a) nightmares can trigger screams, B-) people who talk kinda low most of the time can suddenly scream at ridiculously high notes, c) screaming even exists

actually there's also something freeing about screaming. like usually I talk loud (I'm told it's an autistic thing) but even if I was told it was okay to scream in a controlled environment I wouldn't do it

I squeak and squeal but I don't scream

the same way it's freeing to punch someone for the first time, it's freeing to scream
