So a couple who both grew up in our town (and when I say town I mean the 3 closest towns, cause really we're all just one big happy family around here sarcasm) Is one of the few actual business owners in our
town, does quite a bit to try and sponsor events around here and has also been a selectman and school board members have made a proposal...just a proposal...about the possibility of consolidating with one or
two other local schools because our school is in dire need of repair, an estimated 4.5 million dollars which would significantly increase our taxes. Being vilified isn't even the appropriate term here.
The things that are being said about these people is appalling. There are a few, and I do mean few, who are trying to stay open minded about this but I'm honestly embarrassed and ashamed to say I'm from here
When we were coming from our trunk show last night about 7 pm I noticed that their restaurant/bar was almost deserted which is usually packed on a Saturday night.
I hated my high school life. Hate isn't even a strong enough word. and I'll be the first to admit I probably shouldn't have graduated but they pushed me through, because that's what they do here.
One of the schools they want to send the kids to is the school I actually wanted to attend while I was in school. The education level is superior and the amount of programs and activities they offer is at least
double as our current set up. Pride is going to kill this town. Just like it is several other towns in this area. I just hope we get out of here before it finally collapses
Sorry paul. Sounds like the town I grew in. I hope you can get out soon too. Feel bad for the people trying to save the town and kids in those schools.
