for mixers, I suggest the following: the hottest ginger ale you can find, unfiltered apple cider, hot water with honey, cinnamon, and lemon, and vanilla ice cream & milk.

also, if you like beer, get a nut brown ale or a malty beer like a maibock or dunkelweiss, and try sipping the bourbon alongside.
