I really wish manufacturers would make it easier to find information about what their non-food products are made with : |

I just spent half an hour trying to find an ingredients list for a brand of craft paint, to find out if niece is allergic to it...

I'm... actually surprised they don't.
I am too!

As it was, I finally managed to find an MSDS...
which did not list all the ingredients, but it did have a manufacturer's phone number.
And this wasn't even on the manufacturer's website : \
alas, niece has contact allergies to... a lot of things. and this is for an art class she's taking next week
I think it involves fingerpainting. Personally I do not like the idea of fingerpainting with craft paints, just because I took too many years of art classes that said
to not get paint on your skin or ingest it, because even if the binding agents aren't toxic, the pigments can be
but this is just me ‾\( '-' )/‾

considering what some pigments have been made out of, it's understandable

also just because a paint can boast "no lead" does not make it safe

vibrant colors tend to come from heavy metals... it's just science...
people do tend to forget things like cadmium and zinc are bad for you too
and whilst I doubt cheap craft paint has heavy metals... I still don't trust the pigments to not be toxic.

actually, I would be more leery about the cheap stuff because they don't want to waste profit on more expensive to make chemicals

the only paints I would finger paint with are ones specifically for finger painting
Yep, basically my thoughts: if it's not specifically stated to be skin safe, don't put it on your skin
