I sat down with this mid-aged lady who happens to be a passenger transferring from YVR to Jakarta. She was quite surprised that I was from Van as well after she asked me about her departure details.
We started to have a little chat. She used to be a CFO and CEO bak in IDN and now she is working as a chef assistant in UBC SUB.
She is happy about what she is doing now but from her expression I can tell there is unsatisfactory towards her work.
While people call Van an ivory tower, I do think there is a bunch of talented friends who try to make the world better after all the toughness.

lots of talented ppl work in vancouver for non-equivelant jobs. e.g. then-professor washing dishes and making pizzas in vancouver.
loving hate towards Vancouver... what a beautiful nice place to live in, yet....
