It's late and I want to utterly gush over THIS SOUNDTRACK and THIS GAME SERIES

It's like twelve years later and Ozar Midrashim still gives me chills to this day.

Legacy of Kain remains one of my utter favorite video game series ever and there was a point where I would endlessly replay the games.

It's got some of the best voice acting ever and the fact that Simon Templeman continues to use the Kain voice makes me so happy at times. See also: Loghain from Dragon Age.

It's got a great story and storytelling with vampires, world hanging in the balance, demons, a giant tentacle monster, time travel...

I mean it's not without it's faults - Blood Omen 2 is basically the black sheep of the series as it's... a bit disconnected story wise from the rest of the games and the combat system is not the greatest.

Soul Reaver has an abundance of block puzzles which can be annoying as heck.

But it's a wonderfully solid series between the good story, and excellent voice acting. As well as the art design.

I would happily roleplay characters from this series again if I could find the time. It's been years since I played from it... or even replayed the games for that matter.

But I will probably always be starry eyed over this series. It was such a big part of my life for years.

Legacy of Kain (along with Jak and Daxter) is basically the bar upon which I measure other game series.
