If I missed anything in the game log, or if anything is still private (other than private convos, I don't control those), let me know!
Incidentally, the reason I was really hoping for Yomiel to murder someone right at the end:
>Someone kills Yomiel to stop him
>Yomiel respawns in the loading bay
>His Clearance has dropped to Green
>He can no longer get out through the blue corridor
>Yomiel gets to play by himself forever
the All Assholes Cast was funny, but I don't think it's really something I'd hope to be a part of more than once
I am taking some time off before running another mafia game, so that's it for now
eyes ever so casually pivot towards PSL space
geeze there was a lot of assholes in this game
I only play assholes, it was nice to play one in similar company
Well, Mukuro /did/ leave him a gun, but I'm guessing suicide wouldn't lower his clearance level....
ah, one question
maybe my perspective on mafia game timelines is a bit skewed thanks to Dreamsland's big size, but
It's a thought. :|a Though he'll probably just try it once and hand the gun off to Knightley because it wouldn't /hurt/ to try that.
the ending felt kind of rushed along, or generally more fast-paced than the first half. interacting with the setting didn't seem to be a part of the equation at all D|;;
that intentional? i know you said you were forcing endgame for some reason
I rushed endgame a bit because, like
the citizens had already pretty much solved the game
so it was just going to be waiting for the lynch votes to process for the people they're already 99% sure are communists each day
and some of the communists were already starting to lose interest as a result
aaaaaaaaahhh okay that makes sense
the alternative was the game ending with a two-week slog
you choose the better choice
also people were starting to spend more and more time talking about ways to work around the rules of the game rather than engage with it -
like, a couple people were planning to tie Robin up and leave her outside so the curfew would hit her
and I was like "it's probably about time we wrap this up"
A couple of people being Yomiel and Knightley probably to the shock of no one....
one of the tricky points I found about running a mafia game is that, since the PCs have their lives on the line
"Do what I have to do to survive" tends to take priority over "Engage with the metagame as it's presented"
which results in any possible rule exploit being attacked aggressively with maximum priority
so every rule has to be really, really carefully worded and strictly enforced
but not enforced so strictly that people can abuse it by forcing other people to break it
haha a lot of us sure got creative
hopefully Islandia will not have that problem, thanks to the stakes not being lethal and the NPCs being actually present and around to run things
Also when I created the role set I didn't consider Indoctrinator/Survivor interactions at all
and taht got Really Complicated
and I'm not sure if I handled it properly
we pretty much did all we could to break the game, intentionally and not
More errors:
These two private conversations at the start of Day 2 have Simon listed as a participant instead of Bobby.
that's why I'm hoping Islandia will run a bit more smoothly - less adversarial between the PC group and the NPC group
what a fun asshole game that was /)'w'(\ thank you for running it, I had fun with all yall.
There's also, I think, the fact that in most hostile RP settings I've known...
There was a period at the end where the rules WERE breakable.
Which added to a sense of finality/satisfaction while also not making everything rainbows, because it tends to involve a lot of shit hitting the fan.
Like, if applied properly, everybody trying to just break shit at the end can add to the game instead of ruining it.
I'll say one thing: Moge-ko was fun to play, but I feel played out on her. There's only so much that can be done with her. That's why I kinda peltered out toward the end, I guess.
Anyway, this was a fun game. I'll be apping someone really really nice to Islandia.
There does seem to be something missing. I can't see at any point who wrote the PHI COM.
lol yeah that was my idea, I figured it'd either be taken seriously and she'd get voted out, or it would force the loyalty officer at least partially out of hiding.
And make it harder for the loyalty officer to do their own anon messages.
...well not necessarily taken seriously but I figured she may get voted out anyway since there wasn't really anything else to go on.
...And then some shit went down during the trial. Whoops.
It did at least narrow down that the loyalty officer was.... in Yomiel's vicinity....................
Well it worked for forcing the Loyalty Officer out of hiding! :V
The hilarious part is that Yomiel was, y'know. OTHERWISE OCCUPIED that morning so the trial was actually the first he heard of the message and he totally made that bullshit up on the spot....
Sob everybody who was actually good at seeing through Yomiel's bullshit was on the Citizen's side anyway, poor Communists....
I'll get you next game, Af.
...unless you want to be partners (I need a partner)
we can make bullshit schemes together \o/
Haha next game I will probably app more on the panicky idiot side of things instead.
OK that's not entirely fair to Natsuhi she can plan out some elaborate things but she needs time that she wouldn't be getting in a murder game.
Thank you for running this! It's been a delight
There were some hiccups but I'm glad people had fun
I had a ton of fun, and I'd just like to thank you all for the experience.
I don't think I'll do another murdergame again anytime soon, but this was worth it.
Prof, thank you for running this. Paranoia and Alpha Complex have a special place in my heart, and you did good by the setting.
Yeah, Prof this was great
I enjoyed ruining everything, yes.
Thank you, Prof, thank you everyone
Thank you, people that were just watchin
I enjoyed my first murdergame, so thank you!
Definite funtimes, as per usual from Prof's stuff
Yeah, as a result of this experience I would definitely consider playing in future murdergames.
Probably not with Moge-ko.
