what's the state of the place you're moving in to, now?

Well, the pool's now a pool, but there are possible termites in some of the decking; innumerable roaches the size of my thumb; moths, fire ants, fleas, at least three wasps nests, one the size of breadloaf...

the fence is rotten like wet cardboard, and so are the eaves; the downstairs carpet is gone, and the upstairs carpet should be...

...and so on, there's a whole litany of griefs. But we can tackle it bit by bit.

How could the owners of the place let it get into such bad shape?

They're out - we're not moving in for a couple weeks, until the worst of it is sorted.

Get your living quarters taken care first.

step 1: cleaners move in, steam clean carpets and such. Step 2: pest control moves in, wipes out fleas and such. Step 3: we move in.

Don't forget step 4: house warming party.

Oh, definitely! Well, step 4: fix the BBQ, step 5: Poolside hot tub bbq warming party!

And annoying step 0: wait until this weekend for the person that was in before, to move the last of her stuff out, before we can get going. AAAARGH

You soon my need to wait for her to move her stuff out, you do need something to burn.
