I've been looking at tablets online but literall all the reviews on every tablet including wacom states that there are driver issues
which I dont mind but I figure if I can't differentiate from reviews online I need another way to narrow the playing field
ANYHOW I'm willing to spend 300$ish if needed, but if I can get a good one for ~100 that is ideal
what os are you running on?
Any recs? Any 'AVOID THIS' tablets?
I like the ones which have assignable function buttons and wireless capability
if you can afford one, wacom intuos is the best i've ever used. i have an older one from before windows 8 was out, so the only driver issue i have is pretty much install the updated driver
every time i turn off and then back on my laptop
because windows 8 does not like old things and forgets that the drivers were updated when it restarts. but it's a quick reinstall. like literally less than a minute
if you can somehow find one of the older ones
i'd say avoid the cheaper wacoms, like the bamboo and stuff, since they have less pressure sensitivity and stuff if i'm remembering right
I was thinking of grabbing the intuos 5 since it came with wireless and was right at my budget when on sale.
and the intuos pros have good sensitivity and tons of programable buttons
only problem I was finding was that the recharge cable was apparently utterly crappy
these ones and the crazy expensive cintiqs are the best if you're going with a wacom tablet
i'm pretty sure you can plug them in too, so you don't have to rely on wireless
there's another brand that i've heard a lot of good things about, and is a cheaper alternative to a good wacom. let me go find out what it was called for you
Oh christ I can't seem to find the post, but I will keep looking. Someone I know reblogged an obscure brand of tablet that was very cheap (<100$) and apparently quite good.
I think it was a turcom or a huion. Can't vouch for them myself, but probably worth at least a peak.
Turcom? Tursion? One of the two. :|a
Turcom and Huion are actually the same company! But I did see good prices on all of their stuff.
I got an intuos a few months ago and it was a refurbished one, but it works great!
So the poster at least wasn't having any problems with them?
Aha! Then I will not feel bad for mixing them up!
ahha! Yiynova tablet. it's a bit more pricy, but is apparently really really good, and is pretty much a cintiq but tons cheaper. like you could buy two for the price of one cintiq
i have been recommended that one by people in the comic industry when i bug them about tablets and stuff
it would require some saving on your part, but since it's basically a cheaper cintiq, it's a tablet where you get to draw directly on the screen
also since their site is a bit confusing, the tablets to look at are the ones under "LCD MONITOR" O3
i think the cheapest one is like $400 on amazon or something. which is cheaper than some intuos pros and with the yiynova you draw on a screen, so it's pretty good
/hopes has been somewhat helpful
twasbrillig: OH! Yes! I was looking at those and considering them cause it'd be interesting to see what you're drawing as you draw it
They were just so much money. e.e But it might be worth it to save...
Nennui: I didn't know either until I was researching them last night. They looked really really good but had the same sort of reviews that everything else had.
if you're going to use the tablet for businessy things then i'd def say either save for a wacom intuos pro/cintiq or that
Which weren't BAD reviews, I just couldn't really tell whether I'd like it from them.
if only for pressure sensitivity stuff. they have the highest from the tablets that i know
