What's wrong with the car? (unsure)
Farrier says

Car 1 failed inspetion (faulty 02 sensor); car 2 (the expensive one) needs new tires and a new wheel hub. Nothing major, but a sizeable chunk.

But we can stretch our budget to fit it, so we're good :-)

An o2 sensor should be easy enough to change if you know which one needs changing.

I don't, but there are only two, and they're easy to get to on the saturn. But it's the four tires and the rim that's the big bite.

My husband just replaced an O2 sensor on my car (2000 Hyundai Accent). Of course the one that needed replacing was the harder one to get to!

It's easier to replace the O2 sensors on my truck than to change the spark plugs. (annoyed)
