my company is being acquired. For as long as I've been there we have been the ones doing the acquiring. I'm trying not to worry about the future but it's hard. What happens happens, right?

Yes. I've been on both sides of the equation, several times now. At my first company, I was acquired twice, helped acquire others. At my second company, was acquired once, and have acquired several others.
