Could use some ethnic diversity and some varied body shapes, but it's still a pretty cool step!
It's a hell of a lot cheaper to run everything off the same body mold/the kids can interchange accessories more easily. Bet if they do well they'll expand the line later though.
Man I feel like this is a good idea and more power to them but they missed a fundamental point really early on in the design process
little girls really don't need yet another thing telling them that they can only be special because of what's inside
...but...kudos for the slightly less distorted proportions
and I hope they do well if only for more variety? But it's very care bears
yeah I like the idea too but I think it fails on making the product attractive. with that I don't mind making the dolls hotter, far form that, but give them more sculpt variety and better costumes/accesories
but I can see why at first they didn't want to risk losing so much money
They are very boring looking to me. I mean, little girls tend to like princesses and other things because of the bright colors.
* I don't MEANT, not mind
galaxia: that's my problem with the dolls too :|
Yeah I don't like the dolls but I like the idea!
Oh man, also: "...and are designed so that they can move their bodies properly and sit down without sexually splaying their legs. "
Just...really, do we have to project sexuality onto a children's toy.
and also the modesty taboos that come with that projection
"The IAmElemental action figures will be "more heroine than Hooters," according to the Kickstarter." Wooow.
They're not great looking, but they're intended to be less than ten dollars each so I'm not expecting it to be amazing.
I bet if they do sell then they'd be able to make more complicated ones...or I at least hope so.
The issue will be getting them to sell in the first place. There is no name recognition/show/cartoon/etc to go along with it.
They should have made an addicting cell phone game featuring superheroes first. That worked for angry birds
galaxia: That'll depend. I received a lot of toys when I was young that there was no show for, and I played with them constantly.
I made up my own universe.
Some kids won't care, but some will.
Yeah I think launching a toy line off the bat is strange but there have been successful things that start as dolls I guess
Sadly,
Saeru a lot's changed in mass media targeting young people since you and I were kids. Now, kids 'play' by re-enacting the show more often than making up new adventures
ceruleancat: That...is a pretty depressing statistic. x-x I am still hoping that this can take off, and I know if I had a girl I'd buy it for her, but...it's still sad.
I don't actually have a lot of experience with modern kids anymore so I have no idea what they do.
I LOVE THIS. WEEEEEH
I wanna buy the entire line of them!
tronja307020: If I see one I am totally getting it for sure!
I kind of side-eye the specificity of their message, but DO WANT ALL OF THOSE.
Oh hey I also totally missed that there will be a comic line to accompany them...
I'm not sure I'm digging the Generic Identical Bandit Masks but otherwise bitchin' my SheRas will have new friends
