waiting for a call from a general surgeon who takes my insurance
ahh so I'm assuming the ultrasound revealed stones
that's what they told me on the phone
did they talk to you about any alternatives to surgery and possible long-term effects?
if not, I'd suggest doing some research, at least 50% of people do have issues afterward. everyone in my family has, which is why I opted to not get mine out and dissolve the stones instead
it might be totally fine for you though, not trying to scare you, I just hate that doctors are so trigger happy with gallbladder surgeries. they bullied me so much about my decision
all i did was call my office because i didn't hear from them yesterday. the receptionist told me i had gallstones, then said a general surgeon would call me
okay. I'd ask to talk to them about alternatives before they just schedule you for surgery.
but I mean the good news is that the surgery is very easy and even if you did have side-effects, they're more of an annoyance than anything. so don't be scared
the main issue tends to be that certain foods send you straight to the bathroom so you can just avoid them
im trying to avoid learning about side effects in advance
in advance of talking to the doctor you mean?
in advance of plans. i've got enough to fester panic already
ah okay. yeah you do what you need to do, bb, I get it.
I will stop talking at you about it. but it'll be okay I promise.
Oh dear D: But yes definitely talk about options
But all told, gallbladder surgery is very easy and routine!
I know it's hard not to panic, though. Just try to breathe
thanks
i've been so out of my mind lately. feel foolish for being so debilitated
