Well, really, the only big thing you need to know is that pretty much every defense-helper-girlie is actually a Reyvateil.

The Feys and their channeling? Actually does through a hymn that lets them access other Reyvateil's Cosmospheres (though I really hope this wouldn't screw something up system-wise).

Like, it's pretty much read-only access, which makes it a bit different from the series' actual channeling. Of course, humans can't be channeled because no cosmosphere.

And I'm pretty sure that it's something to do with their Hymn Codes that give them this special permission or something. Bleah.

So. Mia, Maya, Pearl? All Beta-type Reyvateils in the same lineage (they'd need to be to sing the channeling hymn).

Next in chronological order is Trucy, who's pretty much the only Third Generation Reyvateil of said Defense Helper Girlies.

Which brings me to something I was just enlightened about that makes me giddy with twisted glee: THALASSA GRAMARYE AS A BETA-TYPE REYVATEIL.

The Mood Matrix is actually accessed through a hymn that only Athena can use.

By the way, I should mention the twisted implications of Athena being a Beta-type because I'm a slippery bastard: she was made in a tank. Metis wouldn't be her actual mother in this AU.

If I were feeling particularly generous I could make Metis another Beta Reyvateil in the lineage but I'd rather she just be another researcher who adopted this new Beta "model" as her own daughter.

Meanwhile, two problems have sprung up. How would Psyche-Locks work in this AU, and how what would Widget's purpose be if the Mood Matrix's functions have been moved to a hymn?

I'm guessing Psyche-Locks could be activated through a Hymmnos Spell that acts as a shortcut to a hymn sealed in a magatama or something...
