On one hand, Bolin is happy for Mako! He never really saw Mako being a normal teenager and him being with Korra got him to act his age!

it really didn't help his inferiority issues towards Mako!

but i still say that even towards the early part of book 2, bolin was still sort of nursing a crush on korra and was trying to kill it because yo not cool to be crushing on your brother's girlfriend

honestly it's just exasperation for the most part in my opinion :|a

not anything to do with his crush (which i say is definitely gone by that point because by then he's mooning over ginger)

but just

you break it off with one and get back with the other

like really masami and then the makorra kiss when mako gets out of jail bolin is just like

"mako. mako please your love life is worse than mine and my ex-gf was crazy"

bolin looked like he wanted to flip mako out the window at that point

MAKO THIS IS THE SECOND TIME YOU KISSED KORRA WHEN YOU WERE DATING ASAMI

so yeah, he was a dick when he and mako were on their way back to the south pole

and he thought he totally deserved it
