Well that's one way to get SL into a game distribution service, buy the company. www.desura.com/games/sec... I still don't know why we didn't get into Steam. 
The general consensus seems to be that the recent TOS changes everyone was bitching about were directly related to the purchase of Desura, as a preparatory move.
like, if they wanted to shift all the MP content over to Desura so WE could make it available for sale in other games there, or as mod content, etc. if we wanted to.
Steam most likely wouldnt want to allow the flagship application (SL) of a competing platform (desura) to be released on their platform.
Ya that makes sense. I figured they were just doing the TOS changes just to tie up the multiple games (Patterns, and
dio and whatnot) Steam likely couldn't handle the marketplace inventory like they do game mods.

Not so sure about that. If you look at TF2 Trading I think that Steam probably has more capability than we know. It may have to make changes and accommodations but there is potential.
