bringing Chinese takeout back to the room, already munching on a springroll. Yumm
was hunched over the table, lamp on and reading glasses on as he rapidly writes things down.
plops down beside him, setting the containers on the table. "Find something?"
stops to glance at him a little tiredly. "Ja, actually I did. Apparently every year in the same month twelve children go missing. There's been reports of a melodic voice singing at an ungodly hour of
the night." He explains as he leans back and picks up on the scent of the food.
frowns at that, pushing the containers towards his brother. "I'd say a Siren or Mermaid, but they go after men, not kids."
nods at that. "I had thought the same thing but this thing only comes out during one month...the month of October."
quirks an eyebrow, grabbing a dumpling. "Mm...October...voice...kids. Dunno, that's strange. Think it's a deity of some sort? Pagan gods are pretty fucked."
sits back and taps his cheek with his pen. "I'll have to visit the library and see what they have on Pagan Gods...that is a possibility."
nods. "We could look into Samhain and all that. I mean, they did have a tendency to go after kiddies, right?"
nods. "I'm almost afraid it's something to powerful for just you and I."
raises his eyebrows "What makes you say that?"
wasn't sure perhaps fear that it's something like he had encountered when he was younger. "A gut feeling....it could easily be wrong."
falls silent for a moment. "Well...I'm sure there are other hunters in the area. We could ask around for help."
nods at that. "That's a good idea."
so. "One of them might know how to deal with this shitshow."
's lip curves up at that amused. "When is it not a shitshow."
grins. "Fair point. What's this then, a clusterfuck?"
chuckles at that. "Ja, that's a good term for it."
nods. "A clusterfuck it is!"
's lip curves up at that. "Is there any word we can use if it gets worse?"
hums. "I dunno. I'm sure there is, I just have to think."
about it himself but he always found that his vocabulary was never really that colourful. "It doesn't have to be now."
grins. "How's this. I'll think of something by the time I get back, ja?"
can deal with that. "In that case I'll be waiting for something good."
bring him back a snack if he can't come up with something. "Okay, byee, rest up. Call me if you run into trouble." Or if trouble ran into him...
hums. "If you don't find me here when you're back. I'm at the library."
him a look. "I want you to rest. Til I get back."
frowns. "I'm fine." He hates when Gilbert gets like this. "If I needed to rest I would have done it a while ago."
rolls his eyes. "You wouldn't have. Because you're just as stubborn as I am. Now rest."
not pleased about this at all and it's evident in his expression. "I'm not a child anymore Gilbert."
always think of him like one. "I'm not treating you like a child. It's a hunter disease, where we all think that injuries don't matter. Like if we can kill a vampire or a poltergeist that we're invincible, and_
_don't need to rest up, but we do."
sighs, Gilbert always knew the right things to say. "Fine...go, I'll be here."
's shoulders drop in relief. "Danke, West..." He glances at his brother again, before leaving. Gott...
doesn't say anything to taht a little put off that he's being made to stay.
knows he's upset, but he needs his brother to rest, and recover. More than anything.
will listen to him, he respects his brother that much.
