Found out Saturday that Mother has been in the hospital since Wednesday! My family is just great at letting me know important things! Talked to her yesterday but half the time she didn't know me

That's the same stuff my hubby's family did to him. He was and still is so angry. Feels like he was robbed of having one last conversation with her.
I'm so sorry. Sometimes family can be so dense.

She's actually my grandmother, but she raised me from birth. I don't even know what is wrong with her. Nobody knows for sure. She's going to be 89 next month. I doubt she'll get to go back home

If she gets better, she'll probably end up in a nursing home. She always asked us to never put her there. I'm 750 miles away and can't get there to see her. This really sux!

knit1spin2: I'm glad I got to talk to her, just in case. My son talked to her for a moment but it was upsetting for him. They are really close. My daughter, age 9, was too upset to talk to her.
