Hmmmm that is confusing. I think if you follow the order of operations (PEMDAS), you start with the parenthesis... (3k - 5n)?

So substitute the value -1 for K and multiply by three, then substitute the value -2 for n and multiply by 5 to rewrite the parenthesis as...

(-3 - -10) which is the same as (-3+10) = 7

Then you do exponents. Substitute -1 for k and square that. -1 squared equals 1. Then you have to multiply that by the negative sign that was in front of it so it's -1.

So the first term is -1 then you have a negative of what we determined was in the parenthesis, so it becomes -1 -7 +4n

Substitute -2 for n in the last term and multiply by 4 so the last term is -8. So now rewrite as -1 -7 -8.

Signs are all the same so add and keep the same sign, should give you -16... I think.
