My future mother in law does not take adequate care of her animals. Her oldest Chihuahua barely has any teeth. They're all rotting out because she feeds him cake.

The cat has stomach & lung cancer. I told her there was something wrong with him a long time ago, because he was so skinny and always meowed like he was in pain.

My heart is broken for her animals. Neither Alan or I have the extra money to take care of someone else's pets, I can barely take care of my own. I'm just so heartbroken.

I'm kicking myself right now for not just stealing him and taking him to the vet when I knew something was wrong. I'd be in debt for doing it but that's not the point.

She always "doesn't have the money" to take them to the vet. Before I came around, none of them had any shots, were fixed, or were on any kind of heartworm/flea prevention.

I just don't understand why people have animals they can't take care of. That cat has suffered for so long because his owner would rather spend her money on other shit. I just don't know how to feel

All I can do now is hug my dogs and promise them the best life possible. I would do anything & everything for my pets, they are my family.
