approaches him carefully, hoping he was less moody than his current boss. "Ah.. Mr.Kirkland, not? Mr.MacDougal had me drop a few books for you... they're at your table." he gawks, embarrassed.
blinks and looks up at him from the book he'd been reading. "Thank you," he wasn't so bad when he was off duty.
nods. "Right..." He hesitates, then quietly sits down next to him. "Say, mister...do you know if mr. McDougal is seeing anyone? He got moody once I asked for a raise."
frowns at the question and stared at him. "I don't talk to him about his personal life." He took a long sip of his tea, closing his book. He wasn't going to be getting any reading done apparently.
blinks. "Oh, I meant..." he pauses, then crosses his arms, thinking a bit. "Nevermind what I meant." he huffs, leaning back on his chair. "I was just curious what's been getting him so moody these days.._
I figured you'd know. You two seemed close." He pauses, looking at the other. "Like brothers, you know?"
shakes his head with that and frowns even more. "Hardly. He's a bit of an arse." He didn't really talk to Gregory unless he had to.
covers his mouth to hide a laugh. "I'm not allowed to badmouth my boss, sir..." He starts, looking around, then grins. "But I gotta agree with that."
grins a tad at that and takes another sip of his tea. "I wont mention it, I am sure he would say the same about me though."
nods. "Thanks, mr. Kirkland." he smiles, happier at that. "He.. never mentions you. It's more of the..." he pauses, then tries to pretend he's gregory "Fewkin' lads bringin' 'em lassies here to shag 'em!" of_
course it's meant to sound stupid.
raises his brow at that and nods slowly. "I see... he just needs to spend less time working, but I'm not one to talk."
shakes his head. "Not one either... At least you guys aren't studying?" he raises one eyebrow, smiling.
looks a bit baffled at that, "studying never really stops."
nods. "True, but... formally, as in college, I meant." his tone is a bit of frustration as he thinks about his college. "Wait, are you?"
shakes his head lightly at that. "No I graduated a while ago."
hums, nodding. "Ah, cool." he smiles at that, looking at the other. He looked awfully young... but he was pretty. "Mind if I ask at what?"
stares at him. "History major," he shifted in his seat and picked up his tea, sipping again.
blinks, shaking his head and looking away. "Cool... pretty nice." he nods, thinking he was bothering the other guy already. "Law student..."
wasn't really bothered, but he was missing his relaxing time. "Ah... that must be... time consuming."
smiles, shaking his head. "It's not more than MacDougal ordering me extra service..." he hums, tapping the table. "Which... I should start doing soon."
nods slowly at that, "yes. I should get on his case to do his work before he bothers you."
smiles widely at that. "Really? Woah, I feel like we're friends already." He hums, looking ahead at the library in front of them. "I like it, you're sweet."
stares at him and almost chokes on his tea with the compliment before he shook his head. "I see, I should get back to work."
smiles. "Well, so should I." He stands up, hiding a laugh. "Nice to meet you, Arthur.." He waves and, laughing, he walks off.
watches him walk off completely dumbfounded for a moment or two.
