whistled quietly down a street, for once just enjoying the simple city life. He had nothing against normal people, just whoever his boss didn't like.
wondered whether he could spare a minute to duck into the coffee shop around the next corner. The night was a tiny bit chilly, despite his uniform, and his shift still lasted a couple more hours.
noticed a small cafe that looked like it had fresh pastries. He couldn't help himself as he walked in and checked them out, figuring a coffee and something sweet would make his night.
decided that the street could spare him for a minute as he rounded the corner, ducking into the shop and ordering a cup of coffee, and grabbed the morning's paper off the counter to flick through
glanced over and noticed the cop, but didn't show any sighs that he cared. He knew how to play it cool around them. He got his coffee and pastry and went to go sit in a corner booth, all to himself.
got his coffee soon after he'd ordered it, and went to find a window seat without really paying attention to the other patrons.
continued to keep an eye on him, glad that he masterd being able to hide a gun on him since he was 12. He was confident to be able to hide who he was easily.
quietly finished his coffee in peace. He got up and handed his mug back to the waitress with a kind smile and a thank you, and turned to leave the shop, when he noticed a messy blonde in the back eyeing
him up. Something about the man and his cold-blue eyed stare made him feel a bit uneasy, he just didn't know why. He left the shop with a small frown, and couldn't help but wonder why he'd felt so out of place
couldn't help but smirk when the other blue eyed man looked over to him. He also gave a faint nod, just to make him feel more out of place. He took a sip from his coffee after and went back to his own business.
managed to push the weird thoughts to the back of his head when he finished his patrol and went back to the station. He'd completely forgotten about the man by the time he got off duty, and started the twenty
minute treck back to his apartment.
managed to keep a track on the other, following him shortly after he had finished his coffee an pastry. He knew how to keep hidden and not be detected, but once the other was off duty he was a little less
subtle. He found the other curious, and it peaked his interest.
felt the hairs at the back of his neck prickle slightly, feeling as though someone was watching him... but this was New York City, there was always someone watching you, it wasn't something to worry about.
glad the other hadn't declared him as a Mafia worker, because if he knew then he'd also know that once a Mafia member targetted someone they would always be watched. And now he was taking an interest in this
glanced over his shoulder once or twice as he made his way home, still not being able to shake the feeling, but didn't see anyone/thing that looked suspicious.
lit a cig as he followed the other from a fair distance. He wanted to at least figure out where he was sleeping, so he could target it some time when he was bored and make an unexpected visit.
made it back to his apartment building without worrying too much, though he did fumble with the keys shortly, cursing when he accidentally dropped them on the ground. He breathed a sigh of relief when he was
finally in the building, not quite knowing why he was so nervous about something. But he was tired, so he pushed it out of his mind for later, falling asleep almost as soon as his head hit his pillow.
smiled as he followed him as much as he could, marking the builing off in his head. He knew he' be able to get a hold of him, one way or another. It would be fun regardless.
slept restlessly that night, dreaming of the unsettling cold blue stare that he'd gotten from the man in the cafe... there was just something that seemed slightly off about him, he just didn't know what.
would be on this man's trail now and again whenever he moved around. He wondered how long it'd take for him to realise what was happening.
got up the next morning feeling way too sleep deprived, but knowing he had work to do. Luckily it was just a morning shift, and if he still felt as tired later, he could just nap the afternoon away.
waiting in a nearby alleyway, not directly against the others appartment. He made sure to not be that obvious.
made his way to work after having a large cup of coffee, frowning as he felt the back of his neck prickle, again, as though someone was watching him. He glanced around as he crossed the street, but couldn't
smiled when he saw the other and began to follow him, but kept his distance and looked at all the street stalls that were selling things. He wanted the other to know he was being followed.
glanced over his shoulder a couple of times, and noticed the tall blond from the café the day before. He frowned, and quickly turned down an alleyway, hiding against the wall and hoping the man would either
walk right past or turn down to follow him.
knew better than that, and took note of the others turn. Instead of turning though he continued walking, acting like nothing had happened and went to a fruit stall to check out the deals.
watched from the alley as the other kept walking, frowning again before starting back, taking a different route to work than he'd originally planned on.
quick to get on his trail again. He whistled a quiet tune, one that was light, upbeat and cheery. He liked to mess with his prey.
could hear the guy wistling obnoxiously as he walked, not even trying to hide that he was following him anymore. Ludwig grit his teeth and turned around, facing the guy head on instead of running with his
tail between his legs. He stood still, staring at the guy, as if daring him to get closer.
smiled at him as he walked closer, not at all afriad of a challenge.
furrowed his brow deeper as the other came closer, instantly hating the smug smile the other wore. "What do you want, punk?"
raise his brows. "Wow. Such harsh language for someone I've never met. Or do I know ye?"
scowled. "You don't. I just don't like your type."
chuckles. "How rude. We've not even been introduced to each other. How can ye judge a book by its cover, when ye've not even opened the packagin'?"
grunted. "It's my job to judge people before I open the packaging."
hummed and tilted his head. "That's some pretty rough ideals then. How has that worked out for ye so far?"
crossed his arms over his chest. "Pretty well, actually. Now what do you want?"
shrugs. "I'm just out for a mornin' walk. Somethin' wrong with that? Or do I need permission from my mother?"
narrowed his eyes at the other. "There's nothing wrong with a walk. But there's something very wrong with following me, kiddo."
hummed. "Who said I was followin'? I'm just takin' a stroll on this nice evenin'."
scowled again. "I said you were following. Now spit it out or leave me alone."
held his hands up in defence. "Wow, sorry old timer. Didn't mean to get yer knickers in a knot." He put his hands back in his pockets after and walked past him. "Watch yerself, ye hear?"
glared at the other as he walked past him, before walking off back on his originally intended path. He was already late for work.
couldn't wipe the smirk off his lips. He was clearly amused by the others actions.
sat down heavily behind his desk, still annoyed at the kid from earlier and refusing to speak to anyone. What the hell had been his deal anyway?
knew this would be a fun adventure~
