And I've always been taught to provide firm handshakes...

so... I feel really weird exchanging a "barely touch your hand" handshake with someone.

Maybe it's just me?

It's not just you.

I've found that people (women especially) who don't have a decent grip, tend to be flaky folks.

I know there are germaphobes out there and others who just don't like shaking hands, but I've never ever understood a gentle, "oh just barely touch" handshake.

I really don't think that they're flaky... I don't think that any real assessment of their personality can be made from that with the exception that somehow they must have been taught that is the thing to do.

It's just personal experience, is all. Call it a broad generalization. :/ But you're not the only one who gets weirded out by that.

Yeah... I just... it seems like... why would you even shake someone's hand if you don't... do it "well?" (my personal definition of "well"?)
