Hmmm, I'm not too sure about the accuracy of her analogy. However, she makes some great points at the end about the ineffectiveness of the standard school situation for atypical students.
kmulford: I found her analogy very similar to how my dyslexic brain works, my DD found it pretty accurate as well. I've never been able to explain it quite that well to organized thinkers...
Then I stand corrected, as I am one of the "organized thinkers" so I am not going to dispute the experiences of a dyslexic person. My uneasiness was based upon what I learned in grad school (questionable) and
kmulford: As with anything else, everyone's brain is different and it is a generalization. There are so many forms of dyslexia, that I'm sure that analogies probably resonate differently for everyone.
