which puts me at about 1/2 & 1/2 on his writing. Half of what I've read by him I liked a lot, and the other half I felt very 'meh' about.

American Gods, Neverwhere, Good Omens, A Graveyard Tale

So, you don't like Stardust or his short stories? Or Sandman?

I LOVED Good Omens

I haven't read sandman, I have never been able to get through Stardust, even as a teenager. My brain tunes it out (I love the movie though, oddly). And I like some of the short stories I've read, but not all.

I think party I'm prejudiced against the narrative structure he chose for the novel, but the other part is that he's wildly inconsistent in using that structure.
