humming happily, since he wasn't needed for anything on the front lines. He was limping a bit, but he was way too happy to let that bring him down.
moves outside slowly, having trouble with the crutches.
saw her in the distance and walked towards her, smiling widely. "Hej, Gjertrud!"
glances over when she hears her name and sighs under her breath. "Hello."
frowns a bit. "Ye not happy to see me?"
shrugs and avoids looking at him. "I'm just struggling with these right now."
nods a little. "Want a few hints that I've seen work?"
glances at him and nods slowly.
rearranged the height of the crutches a bit, then got behind her and held her waist as he shifted her a bit. "Okay. Try movin' one step forward.. Make sure to move both crutches at once and equally."
turns red, lowering her head a little so that her hair covered her cheeks. She takes a breath before following his instructions.
helped her a bit, smiling. "That's it... just like that. Go slowly, ye're in no rush..."
nods and steps carefully with him.
stepped with her slowly, encouraging her with every step. He liked helping people...
starts to walk with more confidence, glad for the help.
smiles and stepped away. "There ye go! Better?"
takes a few steps on her own when he lets go, managing better than she did before.
nods. "Perfect~ Ye're a natural now."
nods slowly. "Thanks for the help."
shrugs. "I like helpin' ye..." He sighed a bit. "Got any plans for toay?"
nods. "Ja, I've not had much to do lately... I kinda hurt myself, so it's not like I can do any runnin'."
"How are you and Ludwig doing?"
smiles a bit. "We're doin' well...."
nods slowly. "I am glad to hear that."
looks to her. "How're ye doin'...?"
shrugs. "As well as to be expected."
nods at that. "Sounds like we're gonna win... this'll all be over by the end of the week."
sighs quietly. "I just hope Laurasia doesn't take too big a hit from losing..."
sighs. "It's hard to say... We can only hope for the best, for both sides. There's nothin' good of strippin' all from a country, especially when we're next to each other..."
nods a little. "And... I feel like it's my fault we're going to lose."
shakes his head. "It wouldn't be because of ye... someone else could have said somethin'. Ye never know..."
shrugs. "It was the right thing to do..."
nods. "It's hard to know what's true and not... but I believe ye did the right thing."
frowns. "I really hope it was. I know it helped a lot of people but I'm still worried."
sighs. "Even if it's a cripplin' blow to the country... people will keep their lives. Ye saved a lot more souls this way, and that's somethin' to be proud 'bout."
readjusts her weight on the crutches. "But I can never go back."
nods. "I can help ye get back on yer feet... even if ye're not in my village. Ye can stay until ye're healed, then move out..."
shakes her head. "I'll find somewhere to go, don't worry."
frowns. "I'm just... worried. But not for reasons ye'd think I bet..."
glances at him. "What reasons, then?"
looked down. "I wanna stay friends with ye even after the war... I'm worried if ye move far away, we'll never talk again. And ye mean a lot to me."
frowns. "Soren... you mean a lot to me as well. Too much, I'm worried. I've been in the army nearly my whole life, I need to find what is right for me... If I go with you, I am worried I would come between you-
and Ludwig or your family or I would be too dependent on you..."
frowns at that. "I don't think that'd happen... But the last thing I'd want is for ye to change who ye are because of me. I want ye to be happy."
sighs. "My happiness shouldn't matter. You need to focus on your own happiness right now."
huffs. "I'm not happy until ye're happy... I can worry about Ludwig and I later. Right now, it's ye and I."
fidgets. "Soren... I still have feelings for you and I can't just let them go on command. I need some space and then... then we can be friends. I.. promise I will visit you."
smiles a little. "Well... as long as ye promise..."
looks away from him and speaks quietly. "I'd like to go with you... but I don't think it would be the best idea for either of us."
nods a little. "Well... if ye ever wanna visit... just come. We'll make room for ye and everythin'."
smiles. "I just want ye to be happy, Gjertrud."
sighs. "Idiot..." She starts to walk back to the medical tent with her crutches.
just smiled as he watched her. "Take care, Gjertrud. And ye better visit me, or else I'll find ye!"
nods slowly as she walked. She wanted to go with him, but she wanted to stay independent and not be a third wheel.
wouldn't consider her as one, though he would miss her...
would miss him as well...
didn't know where she would go yet so she didn't know where he could send letters.
would try and figure it out... He still thought she could go to his village.
wanted to stay close to Laurasia in case she had an opportunity to go back.
didn't think that would be a bad idea. He just hoped for the best for her.
hoped things would go well for him. She walks back into the medical tent.
headed off to find something to do.
