the memories of what had happened after he had been released from the holding cell were still a blur.
hesitantly walked towards the medical tent, back in their camp for the time being. He slowly peered into the area, glancing around to see if the German was there, and if he was awake or not.
looked around the tent, propped up against the pillows. His face and ribs were still severely bruised, yet not so much that they constantly pained him, only when he moved the wrong.
took a deep breath before walking in, heading towards him once his eyes locked on the figure. He couldn't look him in the eyes though, not now.
noticed the Dane coming towards him, gritted his teeth and turned the other way. He didn't want to see the other now, not so soon after what had happened. Not after he was sure he'd imagined the Dane just
staring down at him, not doing anything, before he'd been knocked out that first time.
stood by the edge of the others bed, trying to show him a smile as he fidgeted, feeling unwelcomed. "Hej..."
didn't say anything, forcing himself not to look at the other. He still didn't know if he could trust him or not, even though his heart wanted to.
frowned but shook it off a bit later. "How... how do ye feel...?"
looked down at his lap, still not wanting to look at the Dane. "I'm fine."
nods a bit. "Do ye want any food..? Or water?"
shook his head. "I'm good, thanks. The nurses have it all covered."
frowns, quickly running out of excuses to be there. "I... How long... do ye think ye'll be here?"
shrugged. "As long as it takes."
licked his lips a little. "... Should I get a chair and sit by yer side, just like ye did with me before?" He tried to smile, hoping to change the situation.
"I-- I don't know anymore, Søren. Just... Just do whatever you want to do... because I don't know anymore"
frowns and fidgeted more. "I just... thought I could help out the nurses and that, and take care of ye... as repayment..."
finally looked at the Dane, though he kept his features passive and tight, not letting a single emotion pass the barrier. "Then do that."
could feel the tension in the air and hesitated before getting a chair and bringing it to the others side.
stared back down at his lap where his hands lying, trying his best not to fidget or show any other signs that he was conflicted in his emotions.
sat beside him and smiled a bit. "How's the food here? Any change from when I was here?"
shrugged his shoulders in response. Mein Gott, why had he even said that the Dane could stay? He was conflicted enough on his own, but having the other next to him made it even worse.
frowned a little. ".... Are ye sure I can stay here?"
gritted his jaw and scrunched his eyes closed. "I don't know, Søren" he said, a part of him hoping that the Dane would understand what he was feeling and help him, whilst another wanted to push the other away.
slowly went to place his hand over the others. "It'll... all be okay soon. I have Gondwana under my grasp, it's only a matter of time now..." He hadn't noticed his slip. He was worried, stressed, tired,
looked up at the other abruptly, eyes wide and the sense of dread he had felt not too long ago crawling back over his skin. He yanked his hand away, pushing himself as far away as from the other as the mattress
alowed, but winced when he twisted his torso wrong. He still kept staring at the Dane however. "What did you just say?"
flinched at the sudden movement and stood up, wanting to help the other back to the middle of the bed. "It's under my grasp now?"
shook his head, and pushed himself right to the other edge of the bed, away from the Dane. "No, the other part. You-- You said Gondwana"
instantly realised his mistake there. "I-I meant Laurasia! I swear, Ludwig. I have Laurasia in my grasp!"
shook his head. "No-- you said Gondwana. Why would you say Gondwana if you meant Laurasia?"
felt his pulse quicken and put his hand to his neck; the wound still covered from his new nervous habit. "I'm just... I've been through a lot, and can't think straight... but I meand Laurasia.."
watched as the Dane touched the wound on his neck -- the wound that he had given him. Suddenly a deep sense of guilt filled his gut, and he didn't understand anything anymore, his thoughts flying around his
head faster than he could understand them, and he just sat there wide-eyed and terrified, staring up at a man who he'd felt so strongly for.... who he stilll felt so strongly for.
slowly stepped back, returning the chair from where he had gotten it. "I... I gotta go... gotta check up on some things..." He was starting to finally admit defeat on this whole matter.
didn't say anything-- couldn't say anything. He stayed watching the Dane, anxiety welling up in his body. Maybe he had been right, maybe Søren really was a Laurasian.... but that didn't mean that he didn't
still love him more than he had any other man.
gave him a faint wave. "Farvel, Ludwig..." He almost said it in a way that could be mistaken as a final goodbye, which was half true. He didn't know what was going to happen.
