Some of the other Plurkers here will remember a set-to with a mutual acquaintance from the UK over this topic. Rather good to see she's a minority within a minority.
ChandraMasala: If I catch whisper of her starting to complain the mosques are being built larger than they need to be again, I will do so. Not sure she's learned to shut up.
While I am not Muslim, I have a RL female friend who converted to Islam. I despise the way some people feel they must pass judgement on an entire religion based off the actions of a fanatical minority.
SidonieAncelin: Seriously. Nevermind Christianity's excesses, it's those terrible brown people with their weird language (as in white to black with hundreds of languages)!
I think the Crusades were a horrible period of history, but I also don't blame modern day Christians for the actions there. Every organized religion I've seen has done some pretty vile things in their..
history. I utterly loathe people such as the Westboro Baptist contingent who use hate as their doctrine and claim they are doing it in the name of their god.
SidonieAncelin: Bingo. And to be more focused, it's the UK's insistence on playing around with Palestine in the 19th century that's a more recent problem.
