came in a bit later, stumbling a bit as he walked through the door before taking a seat near her, but not too near.

glances over at him. "I noticed that you got all the paperwork turned in."

smirked a bit as he got comfortable. "I work quickly when I'm excited, and when it's somethin' new."

turns back to her notes and mumbles. "Thanks..."

smiled a little at the thanks and sipped his coffee, glancing around at the students that would come in. He liked to try and analyse people.

finishes setting everything up in silence. Once the time for class started, she turned to the students and started the lecture, less confident than before.

took notes during her lecture, figuring he could be a good note taker for students that asked. He didn't notice at first that she felt less confident.

continues the lecture and finishes class early, the students happily filing out.

finished writing up some notes, rotating his hand and cracking it after. It felt so nice~

quickly packs up her own things and starts to walk out in silence.

blinks a bit and got his stuff together, following her out.

hears someone behind her and glances at him. She pauses before continuing to walk.

frowned a little. "Is somethin' wrong?"

shakes her head. "Nothing."

hums. "Doesn't seem like nothin'."

sighs under her breath. "It is nothing I want to talk about, then."

frowns a bit. "Is it 'cause of me...?"

shakes her head.

breathed out at that, glad it wasn't him. "Anythin' I can help with?"

shakes her head again. "It's nothing to concern yourself with."

shrugs. "Ye can talk 'bout it. Even if it's not the actual subject... just... ye know. Someone to talk to in general." He just really didn't like seeing people down.

doesn't respond for a while. She walks a bit before speaking again. "Just... family problems."

nodded a little. "... Wanna get a coffee and just talk? Doesn't have to be 'bout that. But like... anythin'."

pauses before nodding. "Sure..."

smiled a little and headed to the cafe, planning to pay for her coffee too. It's not like it coast much anyways.

planned on paying for her own this time... He had already bought her at least two.

guess he'd let her then, if she really wanted to.

would feel guilty about it otherwise. Well.... a tiny part of her hidden deep inside her heart would feel guilty about it.

would let her get her own, and when he got there he just ordered himself one before stepping to the side to let her get hers.

orders her own and takes the cup of coffee handed to her.

put some milk and a ton of sugar in his coffee before sitting at a table and putting his bag by his feet.

sits across from him, setting her own bag next to her and sipping at the coffee.

hums. "So, anythin' ye wanna start off talkin' 'bout?"

shrugs as she sips more coffee. She wasn't very good at this whole small talk thing...

nods a little. "Well... what got ye into teachn'? Like why did ye wanna do this as a career?"

.....sips at her coffee. "I don't want to talk about it right now."

frowns a bit. "Okay. How 'bout... the weather?"

"It has been nice."

nodded at that. "It's supposed to get really windy though. I hate when the wind howls against my window at night... almost impossible to sleep."

nods and takes another sip. She already didn't know what else to say...

hums. "Do ye have a lot of homework to mark?"

shrugs. "Not too much. Most of my classes were just lecture this week."

nods a little at that. "Will I be doin' a lot of markin'?"

finishes her coffee. "If you want to."

shrugs. "I could take on a bit probably. I know other teachers give some markin' to TAs, since the teachers have other classes to worry about."

nods slowly. "Alright. You can do some markings for the class you sit in on."

smiles at that. "Awesome. I'll be interestin' to see what other students write..."

nods and stares at her coffee cup. She still didn't know why he was even agreeing to be her TA.

liked her, and liked helping people. And thought it'd be good to show on his record.

glances at him. "Was that all you wanted to talk about?"

shakes his head. "Ye just... seemed like somethin' was botherin' ye. And I like to listen. Ye know when people can't go to family 'cause it'd be awkward and strain their relationship? That's what I feel I'm

here for. Kind of. Ye can talk to me and I won't judge, or ruin any kind of relationship..."

sighs. "It is nothing I will not get over."

nods a little. "If ye ever need anyone to talk though... I'll always listen. I know it might be odd talkin' about it with a student, but..." He shrugged, just wanting to know he was there.

..."I do not know if I will be teaching after this semester."

frowns a little. "How come...?"

frowns faintly. "My parents are very renowned doctors and so their daughter must be as well."

frowned more at that. "Aren't they open to ye bein' a teacher though...? I mean, who better to teach doctors of the future than their daughter? Wouldn't they be proud knowin' that ye're helpin' people?"

"They say it is not the same. I can't be a doctor."

huffs. "But ye're helpin'... ye're a great success. Ye could be a drug dealer, or addict. They should know ye like this... if ye like it, that is."

looks out the window. "I don't know if I like it or not."

nods a little. "Well, ye're really good at bein' a teacher. I like ye."

glances back at him and pauses before nodding. "Thank you."

smiles a little. "I find it a little sad when parents don't support their kids..."

"They just want me to be successful."

nods. "Ye can be a teacher and be successful. Ye're helpin' teach people, it's needed! I'd rather have a good teacher than a bratty old one that doesn't help."

frowns. "I really don't want to talk about it anymore."

nods at that and went quiet after, not wanting to upset her.

sighs faintly and stands up.

frowned a bit. "I hope I didn't offend or upset ye..."

shakes her head and throws away the empty coffee cup.

finished his coffee soon after and just watched her. He didn't know if he should follow or not.

wouldn't mind if he did. She walks back to grab her briefcase. "Next class I will have some grading you can help with."

still had some time, so he got up and kept near her. "Okay. That sounds fun."

raises an eyebrow. "I don't think grading papers could ever be fun."

chuckles a little. "Well, it's good to see where students are in a class. Ye see who really pays attention."

nods slowly and hesitates before replying. "You are doing well."

smirks a bit. "'Cause I try hard. I need to. And if I do somethin' wrong, I make sure to fix it..."

"That is a good attitude to have."

nods. "I try to be positive. 'Cause if I'm negative and refuse help from people, how would I learn to get better and help keep people alive?"

nods slowly. "As long as it doesn't turn to foolish optimism."

shakes his head. "I try to keep as in touch with reality as I can. And I know there are times where it's just hard to be optimistic..."

starts to walk out of the coffee shop. "That is good."

shrugs as he followed her some more. "Mhmm... I figure if I'm happy then maybe I can make someone else feel happy, just by smilin' and that."

"I don't think you can make people happy just by smiling..."

sighs. "I'd like to think so... some times it makes people smile, and even that's good."

shrugs. "I probably wouldn't smile because someone else was."

hums. "Ja, but that's who ye are. I've not seen ye smile since I met ye."

rolls her eyes. "I don't have to smile."

shakes his head. "Nej. A lot of people have their own ways of bein' happy... as long as they are, that's the thought that counts."

glances at him before looking back to the path.

hums. "I guess I should let ye do yer own thing now, eh?"

shrugs. "I suppose."

smirks. "Unless ye wanna go out for a drink...?"

..."We just had a drink."

nods. "Ja, but I meant like a beer. We don't have to go now, but tonight. Or some other night."

glances at him. "I don't know if that would be appropriate..."

holds his hands up. "I mean it strictly as business. We could talk 'bout the markin'. And no more than two beers for ye."

raises an eyebrow. "Well, one beer for you then."

chuckles a bit. "Hey, I can afford to not be responsible right now. I'm not gonna let that chance fly by. Plus, I'm a social drinker~ The more I talk, the more I drink. Or the more I drink, the more I

talk. I've not figured it out yet..."

rolls her eyes. "Sure, but you can't afford to not be responsible around your teacher."

shrugs. "I'll be good. I'm not the kind to hit on everyone I see, or get drunk enough to dance on a table."

sighs. "Fine, but the second you start to act too drunk I am leaving."

smiles and nods. "Perfect. When do ye wanna go? We could go after yer next class, or the next time we're in the same class, or tonight, or somethin'."

"Tonight would work. I don't have any night classes today..."

nods. "Okay. 7pm by the bar on the main street?"

nods in return and starts to walk away.

waved as he headed off, some what looking forward to this now.

couldn't even remember the last time she went to a bar...

thought she'd have fun~
