now we are not allowed to have a phone in our pocket at work, even if it is turned completely off. If I put it in a drawer, it is going to get left at work.

Did they say anything about having it clipped on your belt? Not in your pocket? (devil)

www.plurk.com/StereoNach... yes...they actually said we are not allowed to have them on our person, including in our pockets.

We have a similar rule at Disney. It's not all that uncommon.

As I understand it, there's security issues having to do with data theft. Anyway -- can you leave it in your car?
Linus Lacombe says

www.plurk.com/Tanarian , I'm not sure it is data theft; it is apparently OK to have it vibrating loudly in a drawer. I only drive myself to work a limited number of days. I'll likely be fine without it.

Man bag?? Okay gents, we don't carry man-bags or murses or any of that other nonsense. It's either a backpack or a purse.

"Handbag" is acceptable, though.

Purse is what women have been calling it for ages... No reason to change that just 'cause a guy is carrying it, right?
Tanarian says

No reason at all. It's a perfectly acceptable term with medieval/Ren garb, after all.

I laugh everytime I see a purse marketed to men labeled as "messenger bag" or some nonsense. Its a damned purse! I'm always talking about getting one, this new rule might be a signal that it is time.

I got a bag for my 11" notebook computer and tablet and happily call it a purse. That it drives my kids nuts makes it extra wonderful. "Kids, have you seen Dad's purse?" (devil)
