humming quietly and knocked on the door of her office.
glances at the door. "Hm, come in."
smiled a bit as he walked in and took a seat on a chair. "Hej."
sets her coffee down. "Yes?"
shrugs. "I wanted to see how yer assignments were doin'."
raises an eyebrow. "You don't have any questions about your grades?"
..."Did you check your student email? I sent out the exam grades."
chucked faintly and scratched the back of his neck. "Ah... I don't check grades."
stares at him as if he had sprouted an extra arm. "You don't check grades...."
shakes his head. "If I look at grades and they're bad, I might get discouraged... so I just don't look at 'em."
"Do you want to know your grade on this exam?"
looked at her as he started to fidget with the ends of his sweater. "... Do I?"
turns to her computer and pulls up his grades. She stares at the screen blankly. Dammit, he had done well... She shrugs.
frowns at that, paling a bit. "Well? Do I?"
blinked at that, smiling. "Really? Are ye serious?"
leaned over the desk to look at the computer, unable to believe it.
turns the monitor a little so he could see.
smiled and slumped on the desk. "Tak..."
moves back away from the desk.
smiled more and quickly sat up right, sliding back to his chair. "Sorry, that... I needed that."
"Maybe you should check your grades more often then."
nods a little. "I probably should, but I don't wanna risk gettin' upset or anythin'. It'll throw off my game. Besides, if I was in danger of failin' I figure the teacher would talk to me."
shakes her head. "That's not necessarily true. It's your responsibility to monitor your grades."
shrugs. "Most teachers are nice enough to at least warn me... then I do all I can to bring up my grade."
sighs. "You are a medical science major, correct?"
"You should strive to do your best. You don't want to fall into the habit of slacking off. Try to think as if you were a patient. Would you want your doctor not doing his best?"
laughs at that instantly.
...rolls her eyes and picks up her coffee mug.
shakes his head. "Ye don't think I know that?"
sips at her coffee. She hated being laughed at...
leaned back in the chair. He wasn't really laughing at her, just the thought. "I need to do good. S'why I only have 2 hours of free time a day."
thought he was. "Then keep doing what you are doing."
shakes his head. "I should do better."
shrugs. "If that's what you want."
sighed. "How do I do better?"
"That is something you need to figure out yourself."
frowns. "Ye can't help at all?"
shakes her head. "Not unless it's about my class."
shrugs. "Well, what can I do to improve my grades in yer class then?"
frowned. "I study as much as I can... Right after class until I sleep. That's why I only allow two hours of free time..."
sets her coffee down again. "Maybe you should see a guidance counselor about this."
shakes his head. He didn't have time for that. He knew she wasn't the right person to talk to about this, though. He smiled and nodded, getting ready to leave. "Sorry. M'sure ye don't care 'bout my issues."
watches him. "...Just don't get burned out. Too many people with potential have."
ran a hand through his hair. "... That's not an option for me."
"People don't chose to get burned out... It just happens."
nods. "I know, but I can't let it happen..." He really did push himself.
sighs. Well it wasn't her fault if he did. "See you in class."
fidgeted a little. "... How did others in the class do?"
...shrugs. "It was a difficult exam..."
nods. "Tell me 'bout it. When I first looked at it I blanked out and had a mild internal freak out... the bonus questions weren't fun either..."
sips at her coffee innocently.
sighed. "Will other exams be like that?"
"I don't know, I bothered them from the department head. I will have to review the others." She had written the exam herself...
(......borrowed *cannot into English this early)
nods a little. "I think it was great... even if it was hard. Ye can't go easy on an exam, just like ye can't go easy on a patient whose life is in yer hands..."
nods slowly. "That is true."
sighed. "What're ye teachin' next class?"
finishes her coffee before answering. "Anatomy 101."
smiles a little. "Ah, good... that's easy..."
((Apparently I cannot into English now either...))
blinks. "No, that's the class I am teaching in a few hours."
((Dude I've been half dead all day I don't even understand what I say half the time. BD ))
frowns a bit. "... Can I come?"
shrugs. "I have a few free hours. I don't know what to do with 'em."
"I'm sure you can find something better to do."
shrugs. "Not really... my sister needs to study and I don't have many friends."
rolls her eyes. "I'm not a babysitter."
nods. "I know, I know. But I like how ye teach."
sighs. "As long as you are quiet, I don't mind."
smiles and nods. "I'll be good. I promise. I can't afford to get a bad mark in participation anyways. Well, not a serious one."
"It's not even your class, I couldn't give you a bad mark in it."
chuckles. "I know, but why would I be a dick in a class I'm not apart of? It'd reflect bad on me."
nods and gathers a few papers. "I would ask you to leave."
hums. "Do ye think I would even if ye asked?"
..."I've changed my mind. Please stay out of my class."
chuckles and sat up a bit. "Aww, come on. I'll be good, I swear. Plus, it wouldn't hurt for me to brush up on anatomy."
makes a small sound of annoyance. "If you act up, I will call campus security."
smirks. "Hey, I'll be good. I promise."
stands up. "That or I will make you grade some of their busy work."
made a sound. "I don't have time for that!"
smirks ever so faintly. "Then don't act up."
nodded. "I'll be good. I'll even sit near the front of the class so ye can watch."
sighs as she puts some papers into her briefcase. "Alright."
got up not long after. "I'm gonna go get a coffee before though. Want me to get ye one too?"
hummed as he headed to the door. "What do ye want in it?"
"I take my coffee black."
nodded and left the office, taking his bag with him and headed to the cafe.
starts walking to her class, getting things set up for her lecture.
came in a while later, putting her coffee on her desk before taking a seat front row and centre.
nods a little in thanks. A few other students had arrived and noticed, whispering amongst themselves.
leaned back in his seat as he sipped his coffee, watching her and looking around the class room idly.
glances at him as she takes a sip of the coffee. A student walks up to her to ask a question and she nearly sputters in surprise.
noticed that and wondered if she was normally surprised by students like that.
rarely was surprised by anything. She answers the question before starting her lecture.
smirked a bit, finding it a little cute how she reacted.
gets a little annoyed when she notices the smirk... She continues the lecture, determined to keep her composure and not slip up again.
paid attention to the class, surprisingly.
found it surprising as well since most everyone else wasn't.
thought it was actually helping him, and he could relate to it in his other classes. Not that he didn't already know about the body, of course.
finishes class a while after and sips at her coffee more. She didn't like talking for so long...
decided to have some fun, and started questioning some of the points she made.
stares at him. A few other students glance between the two of them. She explains herself calmly.
leaned on the table, wondering and asking about a few more things in detail. It showed that he actually did pay attention.
blinks at him before responding. Maybe he wasn't just a class clown type...
smirked and nodded, leaning back in his seat after, content on getting the answers.
Students start to shuffle out and Gjertrud packs away her notes. "What year are you, Soren?"
finished off his coffee as he just kept sitting there. "Fourth year."
nods slowly. "Are you going to become a nurse at the end of the year or keep studying?"
sighs. "I don't know yet. I need to become a doctor as soon as possible, but I also want to get more credits to better my chances. And keep an eye on my sister."
finishes her coffee as the last student leaves. "Good luck."
smiles a bit as he got up finally. "Tak. I'll need it..."
picks up her bag and starts to walk out.
followed her, throwing his cup in the trash on his way out. "I really enjoy yer classes."
nods a little. "Thanks..." She pauses. "This is my first semester teaching."
smiles. "I hope ye keep goin'. Ye'll do great."
doesn't look at him and just nods slowly.
hums. "It's great how ye hold yerself as ye teach..."
glances at him. "What do you mean?"
shrugs as he looked to her. "Ye know what ye're talkin' 'bout. And ye're confident in how ye talk."
"That's how I always am, not just when I teach."
shrugs again. "It's good reassurance though. Students can tell ye're right. It's why I like ye as a teacher."
smiled a little and nodded. "I might drop in to that class more often."
sighs. "It's not too late to sign up to be a TA. You could get credits that way."
... thought about that. "I'll think about it... I don't want to jepordise my current marks and sanity."
nods. "It was just an idea."
smiles. "Could I be yer TA, then?"
shrugs. "If you really wanted. I could probably use some help with a few things."
smiles and nodded quickly. "Okay. I'll help. I'll go put in the forms now."
glances at him. "You don't have to."
shrugs. "I don't mind helpin... and it'll open up more oppertunities for me."
nods slowly. "Alright then."
excited about this now. He waved to her as he headed to the main office, wanting to get it all figured out now.
waves a little, wondering what she had gotten herself into.
thanked her quickly before disappearing. He was really excited now~
hadn't thought he would actually take her up on the offer...
didn't think he would at first, but after quick thinking he felt it'd be a good idea.
figured that if he was going to go to that class he may as well get credit hours for it.
also wanted to help her out. He liked her as a teacher and all.
didn't see why but she wasn't going to argue about it.
