Yes, that was f/32 according to the markings on the lens, although when you get that close it might be something like f/56.

there wasn't a way to get all the crocus in focus and the grass blurred right?

Lower camera angle should help. You can also do focus stacking to get more of the crocuses sharp, but since it was windy, it would not have worked well. Also camera needs to be on immobile tripod.

It is like HDR but with focus. You take a series of photos each with slightly different focus points.
