Well if you can cut the wood... chop off the bottom part of the hilt to make it smaller and straighter

and sand down the bauble at the top... the rest looks like it would work fine once it's decorated. just coat it in fabric and craft shop jewels

Alternatively, cut off the entire hilt piece you have there and replace it

Hm... either option is going to be a pain in the butt. It's too cold to use all the machinery... hm

I'm assuming it's all glued together

you could add putty or something to build the hilt up instead but I think it would end up looking way too bulky

sand it down by hand and wrap it in green whatever, then you can decorate the green but take it off later if you need to make the sword different again
