I really enjoyed it, although for some reason i thought it would be less of a musical. They basically sang throughout the entire movie which i thought was a bit surprising.

but I thought they did a great job of acting while they were singing. Partially thanks to their live recording, I think. It all looked very natural to me.

This is very true. It was really well done, just not what I was expecting.
