hears a knock on his door and goes to answer it when he spots Arthur. "Guten Aben, England." He was unsure why the other was here. "Can I help you?"

smiled a bit at him and moved to hold the bag out. "I'm a bit late on bringing you your Christmas gift."

blinks but steps aside. "Come in." He says. "Did you want any hot chocolate?"

shrugs a bit at that as he stepped inside a bit. "If you don't mind."

doesn't at all. "If you want to make yourself comfortable. I'll be back with the hot chocolates." He says as he heads to the kitchen to fix up some hot chocolate.

went to take a seat, setting the bag aside as he waited.

fixes them up real rich hot chocolate and comes out with two mugs and passes one to England. "You know you didn't have too." He says as he takes a seat facing the Brit.

thanks him for the hot chocolate and smiles a bit. "I wanted to, wouldn't have gotten it for you if I didn't want to."

can't disagree with that but he didn't really get the Englishman anything in return. "...but I didn't get you anything." He says feeling guilty now.

shakes his head, "no it's fine." He smiled at him handed him the gift. "Go a head and open it."

takes the gift and studies it for a few moments before opening it.

had gotten him a box of liquorish allsorts.

smiles at the gift as he pulls it out of the bag. "Viele dank, Arthur." He thanks. "I really appreciate this. Would you like to stay for dinner?"

blinks at the question and shrugs a bit. "Oh no it's okay, I really don't want to invade on anything."

quirks a brow. "Invade? You wouldn't be invading on anything. I'm here alone and company is always nice for dinner."

looked a bit embarrassed at that bit nodded, "if you don't mind then."

shakes his head, placing the box of liquorish on the table. "None at all."

nods as he sat up a bit. "Ah why don't you try one?"

glances at the box and takes it back placing it on his lap as he opens the wrapping and grabs one, offering one to Arthur as well.

shakes his head lightly. "I gave up sweets for lent. Need to loose some weight." He looked a bit embarrassed at the admission though.

nods and places the box down popping a bit of the candy in his mouth giving it a try. And he wasn't surprised at all when he found that it was really good. "It's really good, Arthur." He says

smiles at that and nods, "well I didn't make them myself. But they are a product of my country."

usually didn't like Arthur's idea of sweets but this was really good. "There quite soft to bite into." He notes as he pops the rest of it into his mouth. "Are you okay with steak and potatoes for dinner?"

nods as he shifted a bit in his seat. "That sounds perfectly okay to me."

smiles. "Great. I'll get it started."

nods a bit. "Do you want me to help you?"

had gotten up and was making his way to the kitchen when suddenly he stops to contemplate that. "Well, if you don't mind washing the potatoes and cutting them...you could help with that."

smiles at that, he could handle doing that. At least it didn't involve any actual cooking. "Sure." He got up and followed after him.

wouldn't put the Brit in charge of cooking...ever. "And how do you like your steak?"

"medium rare..." he tucked his hands in his pockets as he waited for him to show him where the potatoes were.

nods as he grabs the bag of potatoes from under the sink and passes Arthur two large ones. "Wash them and scoop a bit of the inside." He says as he heads to the fridge to grab the meat.

takes them and looks a bit confused at the instructions but goes to wash them.

(( No, don't peel them...okay, let me rephrase that. Just wash them and then once they've been baked we'll take a bit from the top and scoop a bit inside of it. ))

had been defrosting the meat and was glad that he had put an extra one aside as he takes them out and puts it on the counter grabbing everything else he needed to make and season the steaks.

focused on washing the potatoes. He looked over at him when he was done and held them out.

stops adding the final touches to the marinate for the steaks before turning to inspect the potatoes. "Perfect. I left a pan on the table just place them on there and put them in the oven. It was already

preheated."

does just that, being careful about it as he put the pan in the oven and closed the door.

places the steaks on the frying pan cooking them both, one at a time, to their proper style.

moved to stay out of his way. He tucked his hands in his pockets as he watched him.

had both steaks ready just as the potatoes were done baking and doesn't waste time pulling them out scooping a bit from the top and putting a globe of sour cream in the space. He seasons the potatoes and then

arranges the plates before bringing them over to the table and setting them down in their designated spots. "Alright, Guten appetite."

moved to sit down at the table and thanked him. "It looks good Ludwig."

places out a fork and a knife. "Danke. Did you want anything else to drink or are you good?"

shakes his head, "I am good, thank you Ludwig."

nods before digging in. No point in waiting when the food could get cold.

started eating as well, enjoying the food.

glad he was enjoying the food. He had been looking forward to dinner all day after purchasing the meat.

smiled over at him as he ate a bite of meat. "It's good."

smiles. "The meat's actually quite fresh. I bought it this morning."

nods as he laughed a bit. "Oh it's really good."

can't help but be a little proud of himself.

he should be. He finished his meal slowly, enjoying every bite of it.

had finished his meal around the same time as Arthur with a satisfied sigh. "I'm glad you were able to join me."

smiles at him, "thank you for inviting me."

returns the smile. "The pleasure was mine, really. Would you like anything more?"

shakes his head quickly and smiles, "oh no. I had better get going."

blinks at that but then eventually nods. "Ah, I see, well thank you again for your company. I'll show you to the door."

smiled a bit, "sorry for eating and running. I don't mean to be rude."

shakes his head at that. "Don't worry about it. I completely understand." He says as he grabs the Brit's coat.

nods and takes his coat with a thanks. "I hope you have a good New Year."

nods as he passes the Brit his coat. "You too. I'll see you later Arthur."

thanked him again and wished him a happy new year again before he left.

closes the door and goes to clean up after them.
