no idea what the kid is doing in Coimbra, but to each their own...
no idea either, he spots the familiar looking face though. 'Oi... mate! Where am I?'
smiles a bit. "Coimbra, Portugal!" He explains, waving softly. "Were you on your way to visit England?"
Raises an eyebrow, 'Meaning your Portugal, the old
Guy who fucked over my old man. And no I wasn't, in nit attached to him by the hip, I can go see other people, no?' He was just on a wander though, admiring Europe.
takes a step back, frowning a bit at the accent. "Ah, I suppose..." he sighs, then smiles softly, chuckling. "Right, never meant to offend! By all means, you're welcome to admire my lands."
if he was expecting an English accent cause of the eyebrows. 'Well I was aiming more for Germany, you know the Christmassy places but this'll do I guess.'
Adds, 'not that your place isn't a beaut, just wasn't what I was looking for.
blinks. "Right... Well, the international airport is 1h away, by car." he shrugs, with a bit of wounded pride. "You should be in Germany soon."
looks around, 'Is that you saying there's nothing here to look at?'
huffs. "No, that's me saying there's plenty to look at, but if you insist, go to Germany..." he sighs, looking away. "I'm okay with it, Germany, they said... Where everything is beautiful and Christmassy, not_
old Portugal... no!" he tries a bit of drama, making a bit of a sad face.
makes a bit of a face... how dramatic. 'Well now you're making me want to look around here mate!' He grins, 'Why don't ya show me around?'
smirks softly to himself. Now there's a trick that always works... "Opá, then I'll gladly show you around!" he hums, ushering the other to follow him. "Right, if you have time, you should go to Porto next, the_
decorations there are more.. complex." he hums, and starts walking around. "Right, we should be close to Mondengo, the view is the best from there."
((a pic:
))
as though he's been played as a fool... But, he doesn't a free tour. It was something new. 'Brill... so we should head to the closest, right?'
waves a hand. "Oh, just follow me.. You be glad it's close to nighttime, we can see the lights better, and the Agência do Banco is close..." he hums. "Mondengo is a river, the largest one in my lands."
nods, as though he will remember the names. He might do, but he's more likely to remember the actual sights. 'Sounds like something I have to see then.'
hums. "If you're a fan of sailing, a tour up Mondengo is quite nice." he adds, waving a hand and letting him appreciate the small, crampled streets filled with all sorts of Christmas lights.
guesses this is nice too... smile widening at the mention of sailing. ' I love it, I'll definitely try it out then!' When they reach the crowded streets his eyes light up, taking in the view.
nods. "Perfect! Tejo is another river, more south, where sometimes, people sail too... Or you can go towards Açores, an island not too far away." he gestures, wishing he had a map with him. Still, he let_
the kid admire the view, sighing happily himself. "So, still wanna go to Germany?" he teases.
((
))
((That looks like a city near my hometown ;o;
nods, he kind of wishes he had a map too. 'Maybe another day,' he replies to the teasing, walking down the street.
((haha, I still owe Coimbra a visit, so yup le sad))
lets him walk around as he pleases, quite satisfied that the Australian likes what he sees. Germany.. Psh, right.
sure he will enjoy the more traditional atmosphere of Germany just as much. 'So, these are fairly new, huh?'
just being a pest. "What? The lights, yes, yes. The city... not quite. The University of Coimbra is one of the oldest around." he laughs sheepishly.
laughs, 'I was talking about the lights, I know you're an old man despite your looks.'
chuckles. "Pest...But the lights are recent. We also change, from year to year or so... Sometimes, we go ages without changing, sometimes not." he hums. "Those are new."
nods, 'I can tell... they're rather abstract.' He likes them.
snickers. "Well, yeah, we decided to try something different... But I think they look very cute!" he coos a bit, pausing to wave at some passer-bys he knows.
smiles, 'That's the word I was looking for. This things are fairly cute.' He waves at them, winking at the girl in the group. 'Your people are pretty cute as well.'
smiles a bit. "Better than the Spaniards, huh?" he grins a little. "Never said they weren't, then again."
shrugs, 'Doesn't really matter to me what nationality they are. I have all sorts in Australia.' He stops infront of a coffee booth, 'Do you use Euros here?'
nods. "Yeah, Euros..." he raises one eyebrow. Didn't the kid read the news? Well, if he didn't, then alright too. "Oh, you want a coffee? I don't mind paying." he offers, stepping next to him.
shakes his head, 'Anyone in the euro is struggling, right? I'll pay.' He's doing fine himself, thankfully. 'What do you want?'
sighs. "Yeah... Well, that's one way to put it." He hums, checking a bit before pointing. "There, just a cappuccino will do."
nods, pointing to the menu like the tourist he is for the barista.When he tries to get hazlenut syrup, he turns to Portugal for help.
shakes his head, then just orders. "Não, aquele lá de castanhas." he translates for the barista, laughing a bit. "E um cappuccino!" he adds, then translates the cost to Australia.
rubs the back of his neck, paying the barista. 'Thanks, I never did get a hang of any of the European languages.' His Chinese and Japanese is passable though... It was something to do with proximity, he thinks.
shrugs. "It's okay." He laughs a bit, watching the barista prepare their coffee. "I'm not good with many languages too."
Nods, 'I guess as long as you know a little English you're okay nowadays.' He watches the barista, always rather jealous of people who can make amazing coffee.
nods. "Yes, it does make life much easier..." He grins, thanking the barista once he delivers their drinks. "There you go. So, a fan of coffee too?"
Nods, 'And tea... I can drink anything really.' He doesn't like his coffee too strong however, which is usually why he adds syrups.
Thanks gabriel and the Barista, before wandering further down the street.
hums, letting him wander as he pleases. "Ah, right..." he twitches his nose at the mention of tea, though. He wasn't the biggest fan of it, honestly. "Oh, there's the banc!" He points at the Christmas_
tree set next to the old and illuminated building, as they're somewhat in the middle of town now.
