THAT was one hell of a first episode.
the first season was great as it is, but this just went above and beyond even that
a bomb threat at the very beginning and the race to disarm it so tokyo doesn't get destroyed
which is quite reminiscent of season 1's finale, except this time it's in the PREMIERE
and fujimaru trying to lay low and live a normal life on the OUTSIDE but secretly he's monitoring both third-i and the terrorists
and he can't really stay out of it even if he tries
the otoya-maya thing was really interesting, I'm curious to see if they'll do anything more with that dynamic because it works SO well
J is still a crazy little fucker
and I love him so much for it
narimiya hiroki outdid himself in this episode
J was so completely crazy in the beautiful way where he just has so much fun screwing with people
he seemed to find it FUN that he was going to get blown up, that is so perfectly him
and there was this SCENE where he un-handcuffs himself
and goes to the rest of the passengers and is like
EVERYONE THIS PLANE WILL NEVER LAND, IT'S BEEN HIJACKED BY TERRORISTS, THEY'VE GOT A BOMB ;O;
and then points and kirishima and the third-i people and goes THEY'RE THE TERRORISTS ;O;
and then the other cop on the plane who's unrelated to third-i attacks them
and then kirishima gets it back under control and J is like /SADFACE
and then spends the rest of the episode laughing at the fact that the entire plane and possibly all of tokyo is going to blow up because of him.
but overall it is a brilliant season premiere and I am very interested in seeing where they go from here
they've got all the major players back and the cast is even better than they were in first season
and they all seem really comfortable with each other because EVERY combination of actors on screen has great chemistry
and when I'm not working on the buttloads of homework I've got I am going to be marathoning the rest of this season whenever possible
overall: freaking awesome. THAT IS ALL.
