Our last night in WDW was eventful. We visited the Grand Floridian and got to see the Gingerbread House. That resort is beautiful!

We also finally got to your the entire Port Orleans Riverside resort. Then we toured around the Polynesian Resort.

Then we had some time to kill before dinner at Ohana so we thought we would take a ride on the Monorail. Mistake!

First, it's always packed. Not really good for a peaceful ride. But that wasn't the worst.

Our 20 minute round trip turned into an hour with 45 minutes stuck on the rail. Apparently, a balloon was stuck on the rail in the MK

Station and they had to shut the whole thing down. As in shut down all power.
oakfan says

Then they had to go through a restart routine. I can sure appreciate taking all safety precautions but 45 minutes for a balloon?

Anyway, we finally made it back to Ohana. The food was awesome! Now I know why everyone raves about that place. I'd definitely go again. :-)

45 minutes for a balloon, stuck on a stinky monorail? (doh) I would have gone a bit woogeddy!

Lorien: yeah, and I'm a recovering claustrophobic. Every once in a while I get that panic feeling. Luckily, this time I stayed calm.

I also sometimes get panic feeling on planes. Oh yeah, travel is so much fun. (unsure)

Anyway, we fly home at 6:30am tomorrow. This vacation was Awesome but I just want to be home. Ain't that alway the way it is?

oakfan: Save your pennies and stay at Grand Floridian sometime in the future. It's very nice.

Mr_Mark: Now that Jordis has seen the resort I think it will be an easier sell. ;-)

Save more than your pennies.... it's a minimum of $480/night.

We liked the Poly resort too. And we really like Port Orleans Riverside. I don't think you can go wrong with any Disney property.

I love POR. I don't think there's a better mix of price and amenities on property. Definitely my favorite resort.

I think our favs are Kidani/Lodge and Wilderness Lodge.

The All Stars can be big old mess at times.

I didn't like the bus setup at POP, especially compared to POR.

It was a cluster mid-morning.

We've never stayed at All Stars but I have heard nightmares about the busses. Also you better be ready for a crap ton of kids running around and screaming all day

Oh and we had a bad experience at Caribbean Beach

I didn't mind Pop last time but I think we would only stay in Mod or Dlx if we came back.

Its one of the reasons we bought into DVC. We get to stay at resorts that we wouldn't be able to afford otherwise

True. And take family with us.

POP was great for this trip. 2 people in a room. A place to shower and sleep.
SpenceMan

I don't know if I'd stay there with the family.

SpenceMan01: I agree. If I return on another solo trip, Pop would be fine. As long as I have a car. :-P

The buses usually turned out ok and real big messes didn't come to fruition (more buses pulled up in time). It's just really daunting when..
SpenceMan says

..you get out there and see full queues and multiple scooters.
